Andrew's back, and AI LIVE moves to a Friday after Cannes
0:13 Hey funky intro music hello everybody we can see people coming in through youtube we got Andrew back in the house let's go not a solo episode apparently the energy was down because You were missing me uh it was I tried to plow through last week but you know it's so much better With a co-host to be able to bounce off of although everyone was showing up last week as well like so Thank you so much for tuning in we're on a different day this week if you've noticed Usually I'd be live on a tuesday with andrew but I was away in cans all week and it was really really Busy and lots to talk about from there but yeah mate where what have you been up to this week Well the last so last week I couldn't make it because I was on the way back from cardiff but
1:01 I I was listening kind of on the train home but it kept on kicking going in and out I got back on Friday and this week I've just been I've done I've trained once and just been catching up on a whole Bunch of admin uh next week I'm training yeah and then I get busy for a couple of weeks and then I Get really busy mid-may oh nice nice it's ramping up isn't it I'm noticing the warmer the weather Things are going on and uh more than last year as we predicted and it's a it's a series of scale-ups In this AI every single year there's just more and more happening but this time Europe is like Really on the map that's what I'm noticing yeah I think so many American trips yeah today I think We're going to be talking a lot about what's been happening for you this week in Cannes
1:50 Interesting to hear I've purposely stayed away from linkedin and seeing uh all of the videos That's gone up and I was like you know what I just want to watch them in one place which is here Oh mate it's the place to be right the the weekly catch up and uh we'll mention a lot of the things That were in can but they were like you know 20 minute long films actually I actually reached out To a few of the award winners who I was having drinks with and stuff and said let's make a So we could do future episodes of two hour long showcases of just one producers films it turns out Like and they're all a multi-award winning people so some exciting new guests for the show and I I Can see a linkedin comment hey thank you so much again for tuning in good love you brother linkedin
2:39 And youtube and hi everyone who's in there uh teresa said about our new studios uh I'm yeah Yeah I'm cut yeah I guess it is new for me I'm about to swap again uh to another studio and I Thought chris was in the new studio but he just changed up his uh the room that was in before Yeah I've changed up my lighting and stuff but I've actually got you know much more exciting Things on the horizon for this little beauty so we're gonna have a whole proper setup soon with Like uh 4k streaming or at least you know close as we can get you know what I've got one of those Sony ZX10 or whatever the one that everyone's used and I've not used it once so when you use Yours I'll start mine up so we'll go with it fully in nice nice yeah it's exciting that the whole
3:31 Thing's getting a tune up like I'm looking at live show notes here that Paul's written and The videos from week to week are just incredible also we managed to grab some that were as recent As today um and I won't spoil the news obviously because we've got like an even an order now in Which we do things but um yeah we were a bit late kicking off sorry for that uh let's get right into It guys we've got like so much to talk about um been really really crazy I'm gonna get into the News and no doubt we'll discuss the can stuff and everything as we go along in the show but we've got Over 25 videos again this week it's insane every week yeah the uh the first biggest one if you Haven't seen it or used it yet is um chat tbt images 2.0 it's uh it's a nano banana contender
Is ChatGPT Images 2.0 a Nano Banana rival?
4:22 That's for sure you know that's what the discussion is in the in the forums anyway and Text rendering is really accurate like a lot of stuff's really accurate and it's uh really listens Regression I had a few goes yeah we posted uh a victorian era version of uh cans catch up on the Ai live show so it was just me trying to like you know change outfits and see how accurately it Keeps faces and it kept my face really really accurately it's probably the best one ever in Terms of my actual likeness being an ai image so that was pretty impressive but I haven't thoroughly Tested yet just just that what about you yeah I've been playing around with it quite a bit and um Admit I prefer well I've always preferred chat gbt images but when it was not not um
5:13 Dali uh when they just stopped it to image I preferred that to nano banana and I was thinking Am I seeing something different because everyone used to go nuts for nano banana and I'm like am I Missing something here and then with this one I'm like no this is this is better than that 100 for Me well it's it's all a taste preference and we said this again didn't we in the early era of the Show they're all going to get to a certain level where you're going to have your personal favorites But they'll all be so good that it doesn't really matter because you know ideogram might have its Flavor and this one might have its flavor and it's going to be just pick your image generator Of choice at this point that will all be very accurate and have certain styles like mid journey We know has the most beautiful aesthetic by far still even to this day um so that's its
6:03 Differentiator I guess hey we're seeing some legends show up afro thank you so much for tuning In I'm glad that you're better um they had a london showcase last night mate and uh uncanny harry and All the london crew were there and they had a train strike as well a tube strike to have to navigate Through to get to that event so yeah yeah yeah that doesn't surprise me because the london crew Cannot be stopped you know they're an unstoppable force anyway I started the news and I think we do Have an actual video for this so let's check out the chat tpt images 2.0 video
6:50 Today, we are launching ImageGen 2.0. If we think of Dahlia as cave drawings and ImageGen1 as ancient art, then ImageGen 2.0 is the Renaissance. ImageGen 2.0 is the smartest image generation model ever built, with the ability to generate Complex, polished and production-ready visuals with accurate text and structured design. This model isn't just generating images, it's thinking. That's right. ImageGen 2.0 is thinking and researching, and it can even search the web to generate images With the most accurate information available. And with that information, the model is able to generate infographics that explain complex Systems and images that solve math problems with the proofs.
7:36 And with new multilingual capabilities, you can create visuals with multiple languages And now, for the first time in image generation, you can create multiple distinct images at once. So you can generate entire magazines with structured typography and photorealistic photos, Full renovation plans for every room in your house, Or manga comics with recurring characters and evolving storylines. And you can now generate images with 2K resolution across multiple aspect ratios with extraordinary micro details. You see, we are no longer generating images to marvel at. Point oh we are generating images to discover and navigate to invent and build to dream and explore The world and bring ideas to life
8:33 Pretty different trailer that huh like it felt a bit more cinematic and a bit more epic and like A flick through gallery style, like kind of a nice showcase of an image model that I thought, You know, like as in you're just rapidly going through lots of different images to showcase It's the, the tools abilities. Um, like a collage here was nice too, wasn't it with the text? Cause That shows accurate text rendering and graphs and these sorts of bits and like images on products And yeah, storyboarding and infographics and so much stuff, right? Like this rapidly like magazine Nice showcase here yeah they've done this is the focus mate you know like it should be maybe Yeah I just feel that it's um because the other thing as well that happened this week so there's
9:22 Been two there were three major image news that came out since we we since the last ai live yeah One got completely missed and that was mid journey 8.1 and I feel sorry that came out saying look we Then claude released their design and mine came out and for about a couple of days that was the Big thing and now the last couple of days it's been chat gvt I feel sorry for for claude though Um but uh rooks in the chat as well hey absolute legend on a plane watching from 10 000 feet You know what I was watching your youtube video today and I was um he was talking about the one
Midjourney 8.1 and Claude Design
10:09 Done a skill in claude I think it was the last one you've done done a skill in claude so uh yeah Thank you for that I was playing around with that I managed to take a green car and turn it into a Transformer so yeah gen hq in the house I just love the london massive uh yeah gen hq london massive Is so awesome just quickly you know between stories and I will touch on the image model Thing you just mentioned the french crew bro oh my god I met so many of the prompt club And they are so cool I think we have to align the london and the paris crew for like european Multi-event at some point because I've met like so many of the french prompt crowd now and they Are all incredibly talented like it's uh it's gonna be a a really awesome summer of aligning
10:57 Different european people we gotta battle these americans and asians and everyone come on guys Is come on we can do it also a big shout out my friend repinder's in the house oh hell yeah Hey repinder I'm loving it getting back to your comment there about like you know 8.1 Mid journey yeah it's incredible actually I've seen like 2k native images really much more Consistent uh uh smoothed out a lot of the faults that 8.1 had but again it's always in an alpha to A beta thing, you know, with mid journey, you kind of expect this like stumble starts, You know, but then it gets impressive really quickly. Claude design though. Holy hell, man.
11:44 This thing is like the most impressive thing I've seen in terms of like talking to a model, Designing decks, designing websites, like full customization. It's really, really, really impressive. That Claude design are going to be digging into that in the next couple of weeks. Showcases for the show was that specifically but yeah then this one drops and open ai is like yeah We're still relevant the most wondered company in the world we're making image models not video Models you know what I mean like still in the game maybe up there the thing with cool if anyone in The chats use claude design uh so far let us know but um it's expensive it really is but then as As things progress it gets it gets cheaper you know like that it always drops expensive it's
12:32 Always this is the brand new like you know here's the and then the next model comes out and it gets Slightly cheaper or or they make some efficiency gains or it's the pattern nearly always with claude So yeah it's to be expected that one but yeah it is very costly in tokens you're right like It very costly be careful that you don't go over and stuff because it's mad yeah but uh yeah I feel Sorry for mid-journey but there's argentinas in the house a lot of people hey the idea of the paris Meetup um yes who is the who is the where's the question who is the prompt crew or what is the Prompt crew oh they're le prompt club and they're based in paris yes just worth a linkedin and a
13:18 Google and they're on everywhere, you know, all the social medias. I believe there's 40 of them in total and they're doing like, you know, Really big stuff. Like they're already doing showcases almost on a weekly, Sometimes monthly basis. They've got sponsors like Tremina there. There's some real cool guys. I actually initially met most of the, well, a small collective of them in Adobe LA Max, but then met them over and over again at these various events. And I keep meeting more and more of the members and I'm like oh my god you're all so talented It's so many of them it's like the Wu-Tang Clan there's like it's like everyone is a member And I've come to find out that there's Lisbon massive as well someone's mentioned Portugal In the house Lisbon in the building I'm going to be in Lisbon this week literally well next week
14:05 Now we're on Friday I'm losing my days but um yeah it's going to be massive it was just announced Literally an hour ago that I'm gonna be interviewing the door brothers at the lisbon laura's event so Big shout out for that if you're near lisbon there's literally only a handful of tickets Left though because it's only a limited capacity venue so go check out lisbon laura's and door Brothers next week so much going on mate it's absolutely wild nice yeah some crazy things and It's exciting that's that's the thing about it it's not just a lot of stuff it's some exciting And so with some really exciting people too. So let's keep going with the news. Cause like I said, we're going to have to rapid fire. We've got so much to get through this week. The next one is, um, Luma has a new production company.
Luma and Wonder Project launch Innovative Dreams
14:54 So announcing innovative dreams, a new production company by Luma and wonder Project built by filmmakers for filmmakers and our first production. Moses starring. So bins, oh, we've got a lot here and it's, um, I'll, I'll maybe read some More of it afterwards. Um let's watch it and then we'll go oh I think actually paul might have loaded up some claude Design videos um which one do you want to play for first paul I'll let you take a pic mate Maybe we should go uh oh okay we'll ignore claude for now we'll just go continue going on through The luma stuff we already sort of talked about claude a bit maybe we'll showcase that in a future
15:40 Claude Design takes a big part because I think it's going to be more and more useful in the future and still being rolled out fully, you know, in terms of token usage and stuff like that. So let's watch the Luma one then, Paul, please. Hey, I'm John Irwin. I am creator of House of David, founder of Wonder Project, and we're here on set attempting something. Has not been attempted before in our industry. It is what we consider the future of filmmaking. On House of David, we were the first show To integrate fully the GAI tool set Into a commercial production at scale. But as we applied these new tools To the current way of working,
16:26 We realized that On the Horizon Was a new method of filmmaking entirely. And it just arrived much sooner than we thought, And we're testing it right now. It is a combination of two methods. The first is performance capture. This is the movie Avatar. The second is virtual production. The best example of This is the show Mandalorian. Now these two methods historically have been very Very expensive and very time-consuming therefore they're only available to Filmmakers like James Cameron. Until now because the evolution of the GAI tool Set we can for the first time combine these two methods into a single process Performance capture meets virtual production in real time. This creates a Whole new way to work. We call this new process real-time hybrid filmmaking. With
17:13 Performance capture, normally the actor is in a motion capture suit. There's dots On their face, there's a camera on their face, their movement has to be synced to Cameras in the ceiling. There is a lot of technical delays and a lot of Limitations. Because of the evolution of technology and the GAI toolset, we can do Performance capture without any of it. No mocap suit, no dots on the face. On the Normally, it takes 10-12 weeks to build the assets that go into these walls. And we found, again, because of the GEAI toolset and its evolution, we can rapidly build assets on the wall. So it's incredibly fast, and there's no need for green screen. And we can generate shots in a matter of minutes that would take weeks otherwise in the traditional VFX process.
18:01 We also have access to incredible tools and the ability to work with our partners, Luma And AWS, to create these tools. So when you add tools like Luma's AI agents and their boards feature, it allows us to have A visual interface and a place for all of us to collaborate. We are tethered to our imagination. It's dreaming in real time. And using tools like Magnific UpRes and Topaz Astra, we can get to 4K HDR. Pretty exciting huh like uh yeah gone that would be like a wow moment if I was somebody that was Heavily working in this space for 20 plus years used to thinking right we want to do this but This is going to cost this it's going to take this much time yeah someone showed me something
18:48 Which is just as good and they've done it in a in the afternoon I'd be like what are you serious Like that will be a proper wow moment for me it is going to cut down production times and uh you Know more and more big studios as we said and the in-house teams as we said as well you know all of These were predictions essentially of our show actually and we said it's kind of crazy that they Didn't have them you know so far but maybe the tools have now matured to the point where it's Like right this is serious now you know let's get in-house studios let's get in-house this in-house That and do collaborations with other outside film studios as well like this and uh very exciting Stuff very very exciting stuff virtual production and stuff you know the hybrid production as well
19:37 Like dave and promise there's so much going on like the spectrum of ai is now completely open you Can go full ai you can go half ai you can go hybrid production you can go virtual effects Is just completely blown open now. And this is true in all cases. It doesn't have to be for films. It can be for advertising, music videos, you know, name the genre. It doesn't really matter. All of these are techniques and capabilities that are going to be rolled out across the Board. And this is, it feels like the full maturity, doesn't it? It feels like this is really AI coming of age now and serious projects with serious people And serious money is getting added to the pipe. Um, I have had some notes basically to say that if anyone wants to find out any additional
20:24 News on this, uh, there is Luma labs, AI news. So just go check out Luma labs, AI news. Um, but yeah, let's keep rattling on. Like I said, we've had so many videos this week and, uh, just want to keep going with All of it. Um, the next one is a very, very recent addition. As I said, it was only yesterday, maybe, or maybe the day before that, that Kling announced 4k native rendering, which is probably massive, you know, and again, It's going to come out the gate, very expensive. And hopefully it comes down in tokens. I noticed through free picking others. When I went to go and try this earlier, it was incredibly token heavy. So hopefully we see this eventually come down in the weeks and months as it's,
Kling 4K: native 4K AI video
21:09 It's literally two days live. So you can't really expect much in terms of that. Plus I believe it's the first ever native 4k video rendering. Without the upscaling that we're all doing through Magnificent Topaz. If you know, you know, we're generating in 720p and C dance or 1080 now that Comes out, but then we're upscaling to 2K, 4K, whatever it is in these outside Scalers, but this is like native 4K rendering, which is pretty damn insane. The show notes I've got for this one is that it's now live built for the big Screens and high-end production with strong visual consistency across subjects, Text, style, lighting, all of the good stuff. Let's check out. We've got a video for this. Let's check it out.
21:58 I see more in cling 4k. More details. More texture. More cinematic realism.
23:08 These trailers are getting so cinematic and that music was kind of epic too with the synths and Stuff and make and I like this whole you know here's what it looked like before slideshow here's What it looks like now you know this is going to be potentially massive for the ai video community Again when it becomes a little bit more efficient in terms of tokens and everything just because it Is going to be so costly at the beginning of launching something like this and yeah yeah yeah Yeah companies like Magnific where they they they saw it early there was like you know what let's Once creating these generators let's focus on the output let's focus on the upscale let's focus and They saw that early because they knew that was going to be a question that eventually would
23:55 Come up it's like it looks great on the phone but what does it look like on a big screen well I've Been seeing you on big screens I literally saw it on the biggest screen I've ever seen it on At the actual cans venue you know the same one that's used for the official I saw someone put Earlier how come it's cans already it's like you know this was cans but the ai cans if you like it Was the world festival at cans but yeah we watched this on a giant theater screen and could you Imagine if it was both natively put in 4k and then upscaled again if needed with some extra fine Tuning this is like gonna be way more control and yeah when we're thinking about cinema screens and Other venues that you know outside projections and other things they're gonna have to be 4k
Does AI video hold up on a cinema screen?
24:44 It's just got to be in order to make that work on that scale and size so this is a really big Breakthrough potentially again it will take time to mature and this is the very early days of it But exciting breakthroughs coming from cling exciting breakthroughs coming from c dance and Will see vo4 dropping soon and combined you know this will be one hell of a video arsenal that Everyone's gonna have to play with this year it's gonna be like the guns blazing if you like you Know all firing on all cylinders and uh it could be one hell of a year when it comes to ai video So that's super exciting it's already been one hell of a year and it's only still april I know Mate it's truly staggering like um and to think about what it's going to look like and yeah ai in
25:34 The sphere as eric's saying you know imagine that mate imagine it on the biggest possible billboards And the biggest possible digital screens uh I I saw I met some really cool djs that were at this Gig and it turns out that they've been using ai in their graphics you know which I I said about That I was like why don't ai why don't uh djs use show to show different like backdrops that you know Represent the keywords of where they're playing and stuff and it turns out there are technology And these guys had like I think no joke 10 million monthly spotify players they're like one of the Biggest techno djs in the world and I was like that's so crazy and that you're doing that they're Also playing around with suno 5.5 and you know they've even got custom versions because they
26:23 Their own models and it's there's some really cutting edge stuff out there that I'm discovering Like in the music industry so this is this is cool to see as well so much it's really good to hear Really good anyway if you uh I should I should have said earlier on let us know where in the World you're tuning in from we're now going to get into the next section of the show which is Ads where we actually have an interactive part of the show where you can vote and do all this Start typing one two or three based on the poll that you'll see floating around the screen but You know as I said before let us know where in the world you're tuning in from if this is your First time you're watching you know all of that good stuff um yeah but let's get into the ads and
Simon Meyer's Kling 4K ad
27:09 The next one actually is a perfect segue for the ad section because it is cling 4.4k and it was Simon Mayer was commissioned this ahead of time. You know, who better to give it to literally, if you're going to ask for a video Showcase of your new tool, then Simon Mayer or the door brothers or someone like This, you know, the best of the best out there. So congrats, first of all, to cling to thinking of this and to commissioning him To do this. Um, I've got no other notes other than it's cling 4.4 K video by Simon Mayer. So let's just check it out. People always ask me what it's like to live in 720p. It's... Tough, to be honest. I've been low-res my entire life.
27:58 Hmm. Is everything fine? I'm not sure it looks very low-res. The doctor told my mom the machine was broken. It wasn't. He is beautiful. Is he? I honestly can't really tell. School was... Rough. Kevin, can you please look at the camera? I am. Oh. Passport control. Every time. Every single time. Sir, I can't verify this is you. It is me.
28:47 Kling 4K. I didn't know you could just upgrade. I didn't know that I could be crisp. My eyes, my skin texture, the fine details in my hair. This is the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced So clever huh like yeah that's a really good that's a really good ad a really powerful ad
29:39 If I was cleaning isn't it yeah so would I mate you remember when we watched the door brothers Competition and it was perfect man and it was the virtual reality with the guys family knocking on The door and this was just so clever to include the door this way well to include upscaling and 4k and this storytelling felt largely the same you know I mean and that it was just incredibly clever The way that the pixel guy here like and then the you know flash to the really upscaled person and And it's so clever, isn't it? It's just such a quick little like, right. Well, the brief is to showcase us, you know, cause think about it. It's a hard thing to advertise. Like cling hasn't actually changed three, three to four. It's just gone 4k.
30:24 So it's like specifically a higher definition version of the same model is the thing you're Being commissioned to advertise for. So to then bake it so much into the actual story was really, really clever. We can already see loads of people voting ones on this. This is, like I said, the new way to interact with the show now is about you guys. You know, we're going to have our opinions on the side like this as we're watching the Video again, sort of in silent, but you guys vote on what you think. Is it for you? Is it okay or not for you? You know, awesome being number one, lots of awesomes coming in here. Got slammed by ones there by Glenn and Eric. Oh, my God. It's the 111111111111.
31:11 Yeah, look at this. This is why the thank you to StreamYard. Keep adding these widgets. They're so useful. We're actually going to use these a lot. And, you know, clearly, lots of people are voting and interacting right now That we haven't heard from, which is awesome. And we recognize that you guys are busy. We know that you're in California. That's why we changed the, you know, we know it's early in the morning for you. We know you may be working and stuff. Just want to give you a casual ones and twos at the end of each video, Just to let us know that you're there and stuff. We, we highly appreciate that. So yes. Cool. We've got this little floating pole around and it changes, It changes from like, you know, one to one and you can only write once and stuff.
31:57 So it's a really true test for people that are watching. I'm just going to give a little bit of pre-log like if you're watching and we're Watching your piece live and it's not as well received as you'd like it to be and stuff you Know don't take this as in any way an offense we're all trying to just give constructive feedback Here we have this compliment sandwich approach something we like something to work on something Else we liked you know it's all just creators and creators here so I just wanted to you know Make that aware I don't want to offend anyone because we have a public voting poll now it's Different to mine and just your my opinion mate you know like which is what it's been essentially Show yeah that's a good point it's a good point yeah I said if anyone is um yeah like I said it's Like chris said it's not something to get down on somebody you know we just always good to hear
32:47 Feedback always good to hear feedback it's not an ai poll davian it is uh well it is an ai poll and That we're you know we're watching it on ai videos but it's all you humans voting and bashing those Buttons and we're watching ai content with human storytellers baked in yes hello manuel what about Spain are you manuel I should also say uh like and subscribe over on our youtube and on our luma Every week we get asked you know where can we see the links of stuff like this if you subscribe and Like our luma page for seedly you'll be shown all of the different newsletters um coming up and all The events coming up if you do the you know long-term subscribe and every day I think it
33:32 Will probably be monday this week usually we're live on tuesday then the newsletter would go live On wednesday the day after but obviously it's going to be the weekend so we'll look out for That on monday dropping basically yes um thanks so much for putting the link on the screen there If anyone wants to go and see that if you didn't know what the link is let's keep going so next Next one we've got is Mazda. Now this is real client work and just to differentiate, this is not a spec ad therefore for Mazda. This is actually commissioned AI work for Mazda, the real Mazda. This one is by boundless, which is a Johannesburg based independent creative agency. And I've got show notes here to say that it was made by Luma agents. Luma agents just powered Mazda's first AI production commercial concept to final approval in under
Mazda by Boundless, made with Luma Agents
34:24 So let's check it out. Pretty fun song huh and I think what you know we always go into context remember again a few
35:10 Episodes ago we watched this samsung electronics one where it was like um k-pop and being put in Austria and we discovered there was this massive scene I believe that this car is like one of the Coming back is essentially not being in production and now is coming back to Production. And so this is the sort of context of like, you know, This is a legendary car in South, uh, South Africa. And so that's the context of the advertising and the sort of insight you should Be aware of when thinking about, you know, was this a good ad? Was this not a good ad? As I say, from week to week, Ads are not as subjective as short films and music videos in that you can just Like or not like one of these things whereas advertising actually has a purpose and in this
35:55 Case it was a legitimate ad that's legitimately being run so it's not like even a concept ad where It doesn't have to meet the call to action no this literally does have to meet a call to action it had A real budget and all of this stuff so with all of that context um yeah is how did that take two weeks Well you know these things do mate when you're working with real big brands and big agencies Take a week you know like it's like you know the reason that people can say look at one guy made in One hour is because no one's approving anything you're essentially making whatever you want putting It on the internet no approval needed this is the time drag that you know it's yeah I think I get Frustrated in truth you know at seeing clients expectations go to can you make it in an hour or
Why does real client work take weeks?
36:43 That it's like well if you approve it in an hour let's say you know maybe if you start working in Light speed that ai does then well maybe we can but that's not the reality of working with big Clients and decisions and board members and shareholders and lawyers and you know it goes Deeper and deeper and deeper every time the bigger the company you work with and this is a giant Company and a big agent doing it yeah I often say that um when it comes to if you're a smaller Company or individual the advantage that you have over big companies is rope is not so many Roadblocks and time friction yeah and it's so important that's been from social media and ai Definitely you don't have to get approval for every single thing where some companies have Got to put it through to legal and legal's priority is not your priority so push back and
37:34 The way things are by the time it gets pushed back and they say or they give it approval It might be too late now so yes exactly advantage of that if you're a small or individual person That's a great point. Speed to distribution is your biggest strength if you're a small and you should never slow This down, you know, because this is essentially your biggest advantage against this to the David versus Goliath. And that's your slingshot. That's literally your slingshot. You know, if you don't use it, then you're literally losing your biggest weapon. I would argue, uh, cause yes, small companies with very, like what I've noticed is even If there's no stakeholders, no shareholders, it's just a single CEO making a decision through You can go live in 10 minutes, literally, you know, are we made this is contextual to
38:22 Something that was breaking news this day. Can we push it live? Yes. Approved away. It goes, you know, that's the, that's the least possible friction you could have with The client interaction where they implicitly trust you, you know, you've made it as fast As you can and they push it live. And, but yes, the exact opposite of enterprise lawyers, you know, rooms full of people, creative Approval processes, all of the above. Like it's, uh, it's wild. Live at 4 PM in the UK. We should be down the pub. You can tune in. You can tune in from the pub. I can see if I can grab a drink in a longer episode and give you a cheers. I appreciate you tuning in on a Friday, by the way, If you are tuning in from the UK, obviously it's different if you're in California,
39:09 Cause it's the beginning of your day, but it's the end of our day in the UK. So, you know, you must really respect it. If you're tuning in on, if you've had a hard week and you're tuning into the show, we really Appreciate you joining in legendary stuff. We won't always be on a Friday for those that are new. We are usually on a Tuesday, but I'm again, away in Lisbon next week. And I got a Google IO update, which means I might be in San Francisco in a couple of Weeks as well. So it's kind of last minute, crazy bookings, but we knew that the summer was going to ramp With that Mazda one, it just looked like I'm not, and this is again, me just giving show Notes to myself almost, you know, I'm not going to say anyone's name in regards to their comments, Because I don't want to say on stream, you know, what you felt about it.
39:57 Cause I want some anonymous voting and stuff, but the general consensus there felt like It was an okay thing, but it could have definitely been more story based or had some other base Stuff to have it more contextual outside of South Africa, perhaps, um, to really get that It looked like as the feedback from there. Let's keep going though. This one, and I love the ads because they're rapid fire. This one's only 15 seconds long. So again, you know, really sharp eyes and we'll watch it on repeat afterwards to have A really breakdown of it. This one is by Simon Mayer again. It's actually real client work by Simon Mayer this time. And it's only a 15 second ad for a bottled water ad made by a lot more people. It took two months to make this 15 second piece.
Simon Meyer's two-month Spadel water ad
40:45 Things like this, we make 20 minute film in four days. And yes, it's possible. It's not a lie. I've done this two minute commercial films in 24 hours myself. That works, but it's a completely different game. When you're making films, the spec ads versus working with an agency and real clients, The process becomes slower. It comes more precise and involves a lot more people. So exactly what we were saying before, essentially as an AI artist, Enough to just create good images or video. You need the agency mindset. It has to be perfect and Not just perfect in your own eyes, but for everyone involved. They're the notes I've got for this one. So with all that involved, let's check it out.
41:42 So quick, that all happened so quick, didn't it? He's crammed so much in there and it's not a typical Simon Mayer one looking at, you Know, the comedy or looking at famous characters. He's just usually, he's using his real AI skills here, just in like the effects. And this is something that like, if you'd said, I want to showcase how, you know, fresh Our spring water is by creating a load of vines and stuff coming out of an elevator, Cgi budget straight away this is a cgi brief that would have cost you know quite a lot even to get Those few scenes and seconds that are actually here in ai but yeah very different from simon Mayor you know this is true client work for him so this is a brief that he's probably been given
42:27 Rather than his choice as to what to make again this has got to be all in context you know how Well did he execute on what the client requested essentially in this case if that was the case We don't know every bit of information on this one but yeah yeah I think it's I've seen I saw This one um earlier on my on my feed because it was oh did you yeah because I try not to watch Stuff but I was like let me just watch this only 15 seconds and it was that's the type of advert That I've seen before and what I mean by that is it didn't it didn't try to be anything too flashy It just almost was like a typical advert that I've seen many many times before uh when it comes to Advertising something like water I can see the AI bit here with all the leaves and stuff like that
43:15 Because obviously as you mentioned the CGI and the cost etc but um for me it was it was it was Just like a typical ad yes I agree and as you said nothing groundbreaking there's definitely Been like leaves and stuff and this idea that freshness and you know greenery and all of this And the the spa element and the bubbles and you know it's definitely been done before but yeah Hey, I see my buddy Blacklight tuning in, giving votes. You were absolutely legend. Good to see some more of the AI crew in the chat. Thanks for tuning in. Yes, it was very different for Simon, wasn't it? And as you know, that's why I gave all the context and get all the show notes, Because it has to do it justice as to why he made it, why he was posting it. And client work just acts so differently, guys, to whatever you want to make.
44:04 That's the overall note. You know, Simon Mayer, whenever he wants to make something, it's incredible. Culture it's using this it's using that but when a client goes here's the specific water brand we've Got and here's what we want you to make it's gonna only be as good as it can be when you have been Given this you know so I wonder if that's the reason why I explained it so much just to say Look I don't usually make this oh yeah definitely that's the kind of context I wanna I wanna we're All used to that every simon mayer video he wants to post thing you know and I talked to door brothers And, you know, they've got a lot of these videos too, which they're going to start adding a bit more to the posts that we see. So it's not just whatever we make and whatever we want to showcase. It's going to be a bit of everything, a bit client work, a bit of this.
44:50 You know, it's going to be more behind the scenes. I've heard from Simon and others. You know, it's going to be seeing different videos, uploads from these guys. But it's a maturity. You know, we all got to know them. They found their lane. You know, we all loved them. It's just like show more now. Want to put in the in the chat if the client's happy then that's what exactly you know did he Make the client happy I'm pretty sure it would have definitely been uh oh I'm being told I'm Too close to the mic and it's popping again yeah um yeah you know it it just did its job as you Said you know that's really what it did in that case anyway let's keep going that was only a 15 So the next one we're going to watch is an Indeed ad, you know, the company Indeed.
Indeed's Ingrid ad by Serviceplan Cologne
45:37 And it's actually real client work again. This one is by Service Plan Cologne, and it's a hybrid production using real human performances with AI taking the role that traditional CGI would in this case. These are the first in a series of films to come. So it's not going to be a solo piece. So with all that context, let's check this one out. Oh, I'm not going to go up. Achtung, Karriereleiter. If that doesn't work, then... Then... Trust me, Gret. Just try to create a profile and find a better job.
46:24 Make a profile just simple. Now, profile. This lord farquardt haircut's pretty funny huh like uh kind of memorable characters and this Idea that a digital billboards on top of a castle wall and stuff is a nice little oxymoron sort of Uh just initial things I thought about this one what about you I thought it was it Visually looked good and I got the concept but because I didn't understand what it would talk The language yeah yeah language so it's hard to it's hard to um we should have tried to maybe get Some uh english subtitles for this one but actually I thought it was a fairly good job in That I can I didn't understand it either but I kind of got like the premise of the ad still you
47:13 Know visually it was clever enough to do that whatever language you sort of speak and stuff Like that but um that's was deutschen was german yeah I've seen metal eight putting into the chat Yes exactly we we're getting submitted and seeing stuff in all languages now which is again same Here mate and soon enough we're going to have this idea of like auto dubbing in whatever language Lip-syncing in whatever language and we're going to have global content um that's going to be a Really big breakthrough when that really happens youtube's is kind of a bit weak right now the Off-putting um kind of surprising ones I've seen some awful ones I think it was the youtube one so I was watching um the zone but the spanish design when they were playing yeah yeah yeah yeah they
48:00 Had like auto dubbing and oh it was so bad I was like what painful huh and then realized it was ai At first I was thinking what is this like is this a joke it was a real game but I thought is it a Spoof and then I realized I was ai on it I was like oh there's there's a long way to go there's Well, it's Google, you know, say on YouTube. So you'd eventually think they're going to have a much, much better auto-dubbing feature. But yeah, so it's just the temporary until they've got it. You're getting a lot of awesomes in here. And considering that wasn't in a language that most people speak, I think that's truly impressive. You know, and considering it was a real piece of client work as well, which as we just shown with Simon Mayer's piece, It's a lot harder to make something really stand out, especially when the client is so fussy.
48:48 Allowing this brief you know I wonder if this was something that was suggested to them or whether They suggested it again without context it's hard to know but getting some interesting votes here What I can see happening is and it's similar to what happened within the world when social came Out and that is you've got a lot of big a well in this case the big ad agencies like creative Agencies and they couldn't catch up in social so they had to buy companies to catch up and Acquisitions and I can see the same thing happening here you're going to get a lot of big agencies That will want to do this work but they don't know who to get because a lot of the people who can do It is set up their own production companies so either be charged a lot more to get like
49:34 A certain a certain input or hire some try and upskill or hire or hire someone or buy Someone and I can just see more acquisition happening Yes um I'm not even gonna try and pronounce any of this but if that doesn't work trust ingrid Trust indeed was not that funny their typical slogan ah okay so again some more context here You know in terms of like the line being you know particularly witty it's actually their slogan and Stuff yeah that's interesting again thank you so much for the additional detail with advertising This really matters guys like I said we might we might be missing the big insight you know which Again you're judging it wrong if you don't know the insight on what this was based on because
50:22 You're not the target audience and this definitely wasn't the target audience for english speakers Is clearly in this case, but yet it's still translated into some really interesting ones There where people were like, oh, this is just good visually. You know, it worked as a visual thing rather than really understanding every line and whether The script was great. We do have actually, I've got a producer's note here to say there is a BTS video, a Behind the scenes video of this one specifically. So we'll cue this one up to see a little bit more context of how this one was made. And yeah, let's check it out. And a better job. This project has been an adventure.
Indeed behind the scenes: real actors, AI instead of CGI
51:09 Ingrid is an unfair advantage. But it was a challenge of how we could bring her back in an unexpected and playful way. We wanted to convey with this campaign that it isn't as hard as you think. Make it Indeed easy for yourself is as simple as taking the next step and creating a profile on Indeed. Look at the wall. Oh, I'll never get up. Achtung! Karriere-Light-Hard! As a filmmaker is of course a gift. One can think with AI totally absurd and funny stories, With which everyone can identify in the everyday life. Can identify. In the Indeed there are people in the middle of the tunnel
51:55 And so on was the work with real players And AI the perfect solution. And? We help now? This is a best case example for the work world. The AI is against the people, But they do not do it. Indeed it's always cool to see a behind the scenes video isn't it it's like a natural follow-on for A successful like uh campaign like this the thing is what's real because that all could be ai as
52:45 Well or was it no but you you can see the real humans and then the overlay and then the addition Video mate you know like and they're using like cut out ai though they could have made that yeah They could have prompted it to be as if it was like that obviously in runway and things like That right right right I'm looking at that thinking to myself I'm assuming it was real And then obviously they'd done the yeah yeah yeah yeah it was whatever it may be but yeah That I was also thinking to myself but they could have done an ai like you remember when simon done Behind the scenes to the frankenstein one yeah yeah yeah and there was a fake behind the scenes Yeah yeah yeah it was I was looking at that thinking in this case it's a real behind the Scenes and so it's kind of like fun that they've mocked the sort of like behind the scenes thing
53:33 Before this but this is a real one you know where they're showing that this is the real human actor This is what they look like after the ai upscale and the video to video transfer and all of those Other bits that we know are techniques now this is what dave is doing literally he's getting real Actors he's got blue screens he's got green screens he's got hybrid production and this is what I'm To keep saying is the the spectrum is now completely wide open and if we don't see a behind The scenes video we'll be guessing a lot of this was it real actors was it not real actors you Know all of these questions will come up every single time in everything we watch because yeah Yeah. Now in this case, they didn't have to be, you know, but they felt maybe there was More control. Maybe they also didn't want the public backlash of you replace the actors
54:20 Because then they can come back. No, we didn't. You know, there's, there's all these like In and outs now about why and where you should use AI in your, in your big budget ads. Cause These are big budget ads, you know? So when people go, AI is for cost reduction in this Case, I bet it saves some CGI costs, but all the actors, all the props, all the Scenes, all the sets, all the cameras, that's still all there. You know, it's just lighting's different video to videos, different CGI is Different and parts of the pipe are like now AI now where again, it's all Contextual and we're seeing a good buddy of mine tuning in. Thanks so much for tuning in, John. He is a bizarre bunny studios on YouTube. Go check him out. He's saying that he feels like this is the future for AI and big brands and where we would like it to go.
55:09 And I think a lot of people agree with this. Hybrid production does get over a lot of those bumps of no humans are involved, no human actors, no SAG, no this, you know, all of those sort of hurdles that lots of people come back with. It definitely answers a lot of those, you know, and AI is being used not as a like exploitative thing, but as a CGI sort of displacement thing specifically, you know, and yeah, so we'll see moving forward. There's, like I said, though, the whole spectrum is open. So this is going to be some people's method. Others will go fully AI and what brands choose to use and others. We'll see. And the backlash that comes online and stuff like this it's all going to be fascinating this year to
55:55 See it all unfold isn't it and the crazy thing is it's so all new you know it's not even it's not Even two and a half years ago it was like if we were in a different world then like the quality Was like like obviously compared to what it is now but the jump and even the jumper I think by Summer we're going to be looking back at this stuff thinking wow that was primitive you know Yeah it was going to come up I think google's going to come up with something big you know Almost definitely actually if you think about this sort of like increase till now like we I mean how Far can you go though that was always the question with mid journey and other image tools it's like When photorealism's cracked you know what else is there and it turns out that there's control Versus quality versus aesthetics and these are all different paths where you can get better at and
56:45 And, you know, which of which do you do? The GPT image model is the reason you love it so much is the control and the quality, right? These two things combined are the things that make it extra special. And, you know, if a video model makes us have more control or more quality, like 4K or 8K or whatever it goes up to there. And, you know, these are all the things that you can optimize for essentially as a foundational video model builder, I suppose. Let's hope you don't become AI hosts. That because in cans mate I was having so many chats with people going guys if you're not already Doing a live show you need to because in-person events and live shows when ai takes over the Internet which eventually and inevitably it will right like so we're going to crave these
Is the dead internet theory coming true?
57:32 Interactions more and more as human beings and we're not even going to realize it we're just Going to have this weird feeling of everything online could be written by an agent or uploaded By hey jen or whereas in these live shows let's hope that our human characteristics are definitely My flaws and you'll see my paws quite literally when I've got the four camera and stuff like that You know like it's gonna be something we actually crave I don't know maybe it's my age but if I see Somebody that's like there's a one guy on youtube he used to do a lot of new stuff and now he does His ai avatar and he goes um this is my ai avatar because the real person is away doing client work Switch it off because I'm like if you can't be bothered to make a video with yourself then I Can't be bothered to watch it you know that's the growing feeling of people online yes it's called
58:24 The dead internet theory as lawrence has written you know specifically I believe this is when more Than and and people say that the dead internet theory actually is about 10 years old as in all That you know like uh much like the turing test or this or that you know that has a very specific The dead internet theory was when more than 50% of the internet is essentially Uploaded by bots and bots preceded AI by a long way. And it turns out lots of journalistic articles were being already written by Chat bots and stuff like this. So we were already potentially in the dead internet space, literally a decade Ago. Um, but now they're just acceleration of all of this because of the tools and The frictionless paths to use them.
59:09 And the idea that just one prompt can create anything. But yeah, mate, this thing that you just said, right. Is a growing trend of everyone I keep hearing and why Rourke and others will Not use Hey Jen or others, you know, they choose not to, because we all have this Feeling of you didn't bother to make this. So why should I bother to watch it? You know, it feels lazy and it's definitely not as good as seeing the real Person and real uploaded videos are still going to be a big and growing ever need. And same with live streams, same with the in-person events, all of this is Feeling that we have is my is my feeling about it you know yeah I think damien's right like there Might be a small audience that might watch them you never know there might be a big audience we Might be the minority in this case you don't know what happens in the next three or four years
59:56 Uh but I don't know just right now and I have to say that when we talk about ai because you never Know what the future holds is that right now I just I just don't like it I just even if the person Could script it word for word and it'd be exactly what they would say for me no not for me it's Absolutely fair enough we all have our own opinions on this stuff as you say gen z might be more into It others might be less bothered you might not even watch the video for the character you might Just listen to the you know the script or whatever and that's enough for you it depends what you're Watching it for I guess and anyway let's keep going we've got tons more to watch the next one Is by someone who we're going to hopefully have on in fact he wrote to me this week um he absolutely Blew up in the fiverr thing in la where he had his handle put like the hollywood sign billy bowman so
Zero Chill by Billy Boman
1:00:48 If you didn't see this go and check out billy bowman on linkedin and socials he's everywhere But this one is called zero chill it's a minute and 30 minute piece um the zero chill the brand's New Billy Bowman's original is what happens when you treat N.I. Not as a threat to manage a tool or to master, but as a creative and a commercial frontier To actually explore with each mini episode is a different brief and a different world, A different proof that the most interesting response to a new technology is never a committee Meeting. We're not here to explain AI. We're not here to defend it. We're here to see what it can Do when he actually let its imagination run wild with it that's all the notes I've got for this One so let's check it out if you thought that was unexpected wait till you see billy's delivery
1:01:46 Timelines. What's your strategy here? Because I've been thinking about the angle and honestly... I've been bowling for 15 years. Billy's AI gave me opinions. Just think a slight left drift would... Oh, for God's sake, Billy. You were gone a long time. Why do you have my sunscreen? SPF 30. You should be using 50. I looked it up. How did you even get here? Billy's AI said this was the best beach in the region. It was correct. Are you staying? I have a return recommendation for Tuesday. Buy me. Buy me. Buy me. Buy me. Buy me. Who's your first good? Why do you win?
1:02:35 Good day to you all. This is Billy, your captain, for your international voyage today. We're about to hit some serious AI turbulence today, So please make sure you have your seatbelt on. Thank you. Billy's AI gave me talents I never asked for Can you remember in the very early NeuroVis days when I was like bring back silly bring back Funny you know this is exactly a show real of all the absurdity and funny I was thinking you know Say it it's like just a bunch of different crazy scenes that are just silly fun engaging great
1:03:26 Social media content um he's great isn't he like I can't wait to do a full episode with him and uh Yeah we'll probably he's got so much stuff out there that we could do a full like hour and a bit Just showcasing his stuff yeah yeah and we'll probably pre-record it and then have it as part Of a future show so that you know he doesn't have to abide by the live stream two hours thing and Because we're doing the proper justice and this is what we're going to do with lots of the creators In the future so if you want to suggest those to us in the comments as well as voting on this one Who you'd like us to do a full showcase on um you know these are things we're definitely up For hearing as well from you guys this is so fun wasn't it I think all the votes coming in now
1:04:12 Saying no rules, you know, just be creative as Damien is saying, like if it's a spec ad for your Own Billy brand or your own Billy, whatever, you know, it's just a great showcase of your skills, Isn't it? And it showcases your ideation too, for clients who might go, oh, we're a sports betting Brand or we'd love this type of spoof yard or we're in this brand and we'd love this type of, You know, this drinks one, it could be a FMCG company. He's actually covering lots of different Industries pet care like you know anything sunglasses anything could be fiverr yes so What happened was uh fiverr launched like an ai showcase and they picked him to be put up as the Like you know launch thing so they actually built him a hollywood sign as big as hollywood sign with
1:05:01 His handle and this was made major publication news you know he's literally all over the press To see it went to you know had the whole shebang and then he's dm me going I'm back you know uh I'd love to be on the show and I'm like bro you're a you're a freak you don't stop you know you Literally are just bang bang bang bang bang bang bang so big shout outs to billy and apparently He's one of the nicest people in ai too you know I hear from multiple people that this guy is not Just so talented but he's very very kind very nice very approachable so lots of stuff going on for Him nice I just went on to his fiverr page and um yeah you can see I'm sure the billboard I'm sure
1:05:47 That wasn't his price and then after the billboard this is the price oh yeah well if you're being Used as the showcase for the whole ad and yeah you better up your prices yeah too bloody right Site you know I mean it doesn't get a bigger advertisement in one of the biggest places to Get it so he was exactly and it happened to one of the nicest people which is always good to see As well you know yeah we definitely get him on yeah excited to see him on lots of people giving Ones for that one yeah really really fun piece anyway let's keep going so um now we're going to Get into the spec ad section. So this is fundamentally different from the real creative ads, because obviously You can use a brand in a spec ad, but they don't necessarily need to green light it.
1:06:33 They don't need to give all this approval. You can really be a lot more wild with it and it doesn't even need to be, you Know, sort of resonating with the brand palette or tone. It could be a totally new angle on a new brand or a non-existing brand or a real Brand. Anyway, this one, the first one is called life is about the ride. And this actually was one of the world AI film festival winners. Um, this one is by things dot Paris. That's the creator of it. Uh, the collective creator of it. So what started as a show real film is now reaching a level where it stands Amongst the best in AI creativity. Let's check it out.
Life Is About the Ride by things.paris
1:07:24 I'm sorry. Clean payoff at the end there huh because you think oh it could be a headphones ad you know
1:08:15 The sleeping couches the floating couches beds you know you don't necessarily strike you as an Necessarily, which is what I think was really clever about this piece. Honestly, it was the Lovely payoff at the end of this piece. What did you think of this one, mate? Yeah, I thought it was really good. I thought it was nice. I liked the piano bit because Actually the piano is what got me thinking immediately. I thought to myself, When you use AI, obviously it's not going to make mistakes when it comes to the music. Everything's going to be perfect. So that was the first thing that got me. Then I was like, Where is this going and then when I saw this bit I was like is it what car and then it's an uber I was like okay makes sense yeah but yeah it's really even till this last uber came up it could
1:09:00 Have been a car ad you know toyota or or whatever you know it could have been anything like that And I think the payoff like that in the way that it was presented in the last frames of the video Was what really really showcased it to be a great spec ad you know because it I it doesn't strike me However, although this concept may not be that original in that I've definitely Seen like floating sofas, but this idea of floating everything, you know, Floating makeup, floating pianos, this was a lot more elaborate than the idea That I've seen in the past with floating beds and floating sofas. But yeah, I thought this was really nice actually. Yeah. Lots of ones coming in, in the chat. Interesting. We do have to rapid fire through them.
1:09:46 We're more than halfway through the show and we're nowhere near halfway So I'm being told, you know, get, get a move on Chris. So let's keep going with the show rapid fire with the ads is always good. So the next spec ad is Luma Cola. This was part of the Luma brief contest. Remember we watched those a few weeks ago. This one's 45 seconds written and directed by Mondia Giovanni and Sebastian Colat, Original AI series created by Matthias Wild. Let's check it out. I want you, I need you
Luma Cola
1:10:33 There is nothing we can do I want you, I need you Together we can make it through The uh the the lyrics of the music working with the visuals so well really made me laugh on this One you know together working together yeah like both with broken arms and trying to help each
1:11:18 Other drink the cola bottle this premise alone was just hilarious and it was really well executed I thought and uh a rightful you know uh yeah a rightful selection in the in the luma brief there So lots and lots of ones coming through on this one um aren't had so fun there's such a quick Payoff they're so good so quickly with a video that's like a film you have to kind of wait Minutes for the dialogue to build up you get into the characters and ads are like how much punch Can you have in as short a time as possible and can you make this shorter and even snappier and Even better you know like that that's what I think with advertisement it's like good copywriting is Not long copywriting it's the most optimized best punch line it's like comedy you know it's all
1:12:09 How quick can you get the punch line out and how much is the twist gonna put you in there and Yeah it's why I love it so much I get passionate about these things because yeah and the music Integration of your music I had a feeling when he was drinking that that bit I knew okay I bet I kind of get that I got it before the reveal so I was like okay but I was thinking if I work for Coca-Cola or Pepsi or any drink company I'd be thinking why didn't we think of this before that That's one of those it's such a simple concept and why didn't we think of this before So good and I think that was probably one of my favorite ones so far in the show and yet it was Such a simple premise but it was so well executed and cola as you say is a very smart thing to use
1:12:57 Because there's many cola products you know and it's one of the most popular beverages in the World and stuff like that yeah so good seeing this stuff ai what's this seeing ai ads is that You can see the good storytelling synthesis of people. Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm glad you guys Appreciate the ads as much as us. I just think it's such an interesting medium to showcase your AI skills in this brief period of time. And you've got something to do. It's not just completely Subjective. Anyway, let's keep going. The next one is a pizza concept ad. This is a one minute It's short ad by runway, the actual platform runway is another spec ad by Runway to show exactly what their platform can do.
Runway's pizza concept ad
1:13:43 So let's check it out. 1000 soffi Vola asciuga Scivola aglio Niente pecorino Questo è uno sbaglio Diavola fetta Ufa la spetta Viva pancetta Resta la fetta Napoli Pura pugliese paura Sopra focaccia L'avventura
1:14:39 Wow the music again the dominoes falling down the pizza you know edited to the beat like it was so Nice that little cuts there and they're like you know flying around cgi type thing the grease the You know the physics all of it looks like a really really good showcase of how you can make a really Compelling fun pizza ad and you know this could be achievable by your local pizzeria it doesn't You know a giant brand to do this type of stuff anymore this could be done by anyone uh Pretty cool cool ad I like I completely agree with uh teresa california girl cg she said love the Muted sound when she was looking in that's what I know those little things as well I also like
1:15:25 At the end where it said make runway make your own ads yeah there you go you can make it runway you Can make it up I like that as well very it's a very very um very good strong add there and if If this was a team effort by the runway thing that's okay to sort of brand it as runway you Know although if you've been following me on linkedin already you might have seen that I Had a very viral post last week about you know you don't need big budgets to make a big idea work I did actually find out who on the runway team actually made this and altered that post so you You can see the tag because I don't like this new trend of companies not Mentioning who made this stuff. You know, even when it's their in-house team, they should be shouting out Individuals saying this was made by the in-house runway film juices, X, X, X,
Why should brands credit the creatives behind AI work?
1:16:12 And X like agencies would do, you know, creative director is this, you know, Show, right? No, it was this, the script writer is that tag, tag, tag, tag, tag. Like I really don't like this idea that companies are going to start playing Social media bait game which is someone made this in 24 hours using our whatever like please let's Do the you know the right thing and give the right creators the due diligence that they deserve Because that was great you know the the one I posted with the watch out you saw this one right Yeah genius right like he really deserves his props on that case and I was kind of angry that For 48 hours we didn't know who it was and then I was actually told by someone watching the show Who on runway was doing it and so yeah thankful for the shout outs if you know who made that on
1:16:59 Runway uh if there's any news let us know and we'll try and add this to the newsletter on monday Because I really want to give the creatives their shout out they deserve anyway that's all my notes On that one but yeah a great showcase of what you can do a runway very clever nice little editing Nice little job the the muted audio like you said was the bit that stood out and the editing on the Be you know the music integration in this episode has been the theme of greatness um we did actually Have to cut out a few lawrence made a good point he goes ad agencies like mother have stopped name Checking stuff to stop them being poached yeah I don't like this lawrence I just really don't like This is it comes from a place of insecurity you know I've had I've had a few discussions about This recently and um with a few very prominent creative directors who are all showing a lot of
1:17:50 Distaste for this like approach so I hope it's not a trend that continues and if we can expose who Made this we will do by any means possible so we really appreciate you guys letting us know If you find out and like I said someone gave me the in and I edited my post to make sure I type That person and you know we need to keep doing this yes thank you thank you spirit like we need Give credits. Everyone keeps saying, look what AI made in 24 hours. And this is reflecting badly On us as creatives using this technology. It's really starting to grate me. Actually, I'm getting quite passionate about like how much we need to shout out the humans involved in this AI content. It's not the AI making it. And it's, you know, I don't believe it ever will be, you Know, agents may make stuff, but I still think humans using AI in the loop will resonate more
1:18:40 With other humans receiving this you know like so it really matters and they just do that it makes People think oh I can just prompt and then I just create an ad like that just sort of one simple Prompt it's a complete like you say like it's just a clickbait you know it's just because social Media algorithms proliferate that type of ambiguity oh my god my mom would be proud of my language Right there the vocabulary I used that may be the most articulate sentence when I'm this tired I've Ever said in my life I'm not even joking oh my god right anyway let's keep going the next one And I've got a producer's note on this one is a bit of a random video but we picked it because
Racing Grannies by Ingi Erlingsson
1:19:25 It seems to be like an ex a very good example of how a brand like red bull could actually integrate Existing footage that they've created into something new quite quickly using ai this One was made by ingi erlingson and it's racing grannies let's check it out I'm just realizing that that's a very famous track and that the copyright may uh get us on that one
1:20:13 But um again great music edition you know a very famous very you know punky type song and to have Like your grandma and a motor scooter and then using a video to video transfer of a real racing Rally car you know and then displacing her with the the grandma in the yeah this is just a super Clever idea isn't it yeah you could actually see brands going you know what we've just had this Really viral f1 moment with a car spinning out and they replace it with like the presenter or Something and it it go mega viral on social media right like it would be a very clever showcase of AI in social media, if a brand was willing to do it. Um, obviously it comes with some risks, but with taste and cleverness and good
1:21:01 Editing and, uh, it could really work. So that's why we picked it as the last bit of this section. We're not even really gonna have a voting poll on that one, because again, It wasn't a real showcase of AI in advertisement or anything like that. It was more like just a quick thing that we thought could inspire you guys and Your thoughts for the process of making your own stuff. Video to video is highly underrated I would argue not many people are using it like that so Cool little showcase anyway jimmy if you're watching let us know in the comments you made The show again my friend thank you so much for submitting to us we do have a submission link um And this is basically in the section of we call it films and anything else we found cool Because it's essentially a lot of stuff in here we're going to get music videos films short films
St George's Day Special by 404 Films
1:21:48 All sorts of like random bits and bobs, but Jimmy, you know, Thank you so much for regularly submitting to us. And, uh, You're an absolute legend, mate. If you're not watching this, Obviously I'll send it to you in the, in the end of the show. Uh, If you don't know already, he is 404 films on YouTube. And, um, This one is called St. George's day special, And it is a news parody he made for St. George's day. If you're British, You know, let's go. Good evening. Anti-English protesters have ruined St George's Day. Across the country, they have turned St George's flags upside down In an act of national humiliation. I'm here undercover with the group.
1:22:35 What motivated you? We lost 1-0 to Japan. In a friendly! I miss Scott Mills. I don't think St George even killed a dragon. From bridges to council estates, all flags have been turned upside down, while politicians Are said to be furious. They think it's funny, like it's a huge joke. Meanwhile copycat protests have spread to Scotland, where the government has brought Out the buckfast wine cannon to quell the violence. That's all from 404 News. Stay safe and remember, patriotism means never asking where the England shirt was made.
1:23:26 It's very british humor that so when he was talking about the football when he was talking About um what the second thing he spoke about the football and then she there was loads of References in there mate yeah there was dragons and all sorts yeah very british uh humor there The dragon as well yeah it's a good one I like that uh yeah it was hilarious like I said if you Know you know the British references were off the chain in this one like really really funny stuff Uh so California girls said why did they not use the British flag so you're thinking about the Union Jack the Union Jack covers the United Kingdom which is England Scotland Island Wales now if Just england it's the flag that they have in this in this video and wells has got their own one
1:24:13 Islands got their own one scotland's got their own one but you're probably used to seeing the union Jack which is everyone's yeah oh my headphones have just killed on me so I hope everyone's still Hearing me all right yeah I can hear yeah cool cool um so yeah hilarious jimmy thank you so much Again if you're not watching right now I'll send it to you in post mate you're getting lots of ones Know even though it's without the british context you know the humor carries just like the german One we watched it doesn't necessarily be need to know the references as long as the humor seems Good by the way yes we did lose one nil to japan recently and we were sort of undefeated on our run Up to the world cup and this massive and it just like in us and then at wemberly and like as a Nation we have this now collective sigh of is the world cup going to go good or bad or is it going
1:25:02 Yeah you know these are the sort of things that us british worry about so yeah anyway Enough context for that one that was hilarious mate you are hilarious jimmy thanks again for Submitting let's keep going so the next one is um star rifter and this is sample shots this one was Directed by colin brady built with flow floyo I think I'm pronouncing that right he's actually an Ex-pixar and lm ilm director so let's check it out
Star Rifter sample shots by Colin Brady
1:25:51 That ship is our ticket off this rock 43% your best crash yet, alright? Okay, Malcolm. Enough with the compliment. Hello? Anybody home? Fine dining in the middle of nowhere. Don't go down there until I say... That's my fort. Give his ass to me. Classic mooch. Gotcha, you Mandarin muskrat! Freeze! Mooch! Tie him up! You're way over your head. Is he off for crying out loud? I'm stealing your ship and getting off this planet. You'll never steal that ship. Clementine.
1:26:40 Dex Bramble Star, captain of the Galactic Cart Delivery Service and commander of the Wallaboo. At your service. Boss just fell. Okay, okay. Captain huh? Right, we're popular again. Bang! We got this! Seriously, who built Cannons that bitch? Wallaby reaching escape velocity. Launch complete. Always nice getting that information from the players. So really quickly before on that one, we're going to watch a quick behind the scenes video of this one.
1:27:29 If we've got it loaded up, let's check it out. Our hope is that Starrifter creates a bit of a rift into the Hollywood system, Creating a new pipeline, allowing more of these very high end spectacle driven stories to be told at a fraction of the cost. So that these stories can be told not just by people who have access to Hollywood studios, But artists around the world with important stories to tell of their own
1:28:15 It's cool to see it behind the scenes isn't it because it just explains so much about what we're I'm really liking this, you know, new behind the scenes thing that we can capture. If Something comes out, then we see behind the scenes, we'll grab both and then showcase them Back to back like that. So we don't have to guess and do all this stuff first. We just literally Get to see, and then we can judge it based on both of those things. So yeah, vote in the polls. Don't forget the poll is on the screen right now for those that are just tuning in sort of visually That I just need to remind everyone now is your time to vote slam your ones twos or threes what Did you think ones for awesome two for okay three not for me so what did you think mate
1:29:01 I thought it was well put together but I don't know I just didn't like the song I just didn't I think the song it's almost like the song made it feel like a a trailer but even though it kind Of was but it wasn't it's right yeah I don't know it's I thought without it I think it looks great Like watching it now and we hit them them speaking I think would be great it was just that song that Didn't like I don't know well it's a really hard episode to have had that in because obviously the Music's been so good up until now you know so we're judging it by the very recent like uh stuff For the weeks has watched and I would very much agree with you you know definitely the music Like lowered the overall score for me um but it still was visually very interesting and the bts
1:29:50 Was very interesting yeah like and the idea of being called star rifter you know it's a great Name it's a kind of like you know overall other than the music I had a lot going for it this one Didn't it it was just unfortunate that the music just wasn't quite as good as some of the other Pieces we've watched but yeah so yeah let's keep rapid firing you know yeah play some more god Did you want to bring something up first I was gonna say jeff jeff elucid I kind of feel like The photo real humans were about 80 of the way there but with animation like this we're 100 of The way they're completely completely agree there jeff there's something that we were saying probably About a year and a half ago it was like animation is going to be the first thing that's going to
Is AI animation already all the way there?
1:30:38 We feel yeah you know it's gonna it's gonna get there quicker and uh yeah when you see things like This and some of the other things that we've seen it's like no surprise exactly yep Literally said this is sample clips so sample clips sample clips sample clips we shouldn't Be judging it by the story it's just literally sample clips in this case so yeah it's um Yeah can I just throw I was like there's something like yeah missing yeah yeah it makes sense now Slammed by pool for sample clips I should have mentioned that more in the video so again sorry About the context I need to remember all of this context is so important as to when you vote in And all that because people could be thrown off by that yeah so sorry about that right let's keep Going anyway so um the next one is actually by someone that we've worked with and he was one of
Junkyard King Episode 0 by Henry Daubrez
1:31:29 The early people that we collaborated with coca-cola with and now he's working at google as an An in-house film producer and very, very talented guy. Again, we may have him on for a full episode to watch a whole series of his Stuff because he's been so prolific at making stuff. His name is Henry Dalbray. I think he's French. I'm pronouncing that wrong. Probably I'm really terrible at pronouncing French, but this one, This piece by him is called Junkyard King episode zero. And the context for this one is that it was set in the 1980s. The story follows Artie, who is a geeky teenager obsessed with VHS tapes, samurai movies, and late night mysteries. By day, he's an awkward kid in a quiet town, but by night he plays detective, convinced that something strange is happening around him.
1:32:19 So with all of that knowledge, let's check it out. So, my name's Arthur, but my Uncle Bob calls me Artie. He's about the only relative I still have left, but he's cool enough to let me live with him. I try to stay out of his way.
1:33:10 Lately, my world is just shadowboxing with VHS ghosts and tracing red yarn across town maps. People see three missing kids, and all I see is a geometric pattern the cops are too blind to notice. They're looking for runaways, but they're staring from the wrong angle. They aren't looking at the math. Tonight, I find out if the numbers lie.
1:34:24 I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
1:35:15 Shut it off! You're ringing the dinner bell! Hey you, the chicken! What's this thing? Chicken? I have more processing power in my left claw than you entire high school. This young Arthur is a rust knight, a hollow ghost in a suit of trash. Here goes nothing. Come on. Come on. Come on!
1:36:04 Just a little scared. I just bounced back. Why won't it hit? Keep it together. Think. Wait. He's not a ghost. He's just a massive electromagnet. I just need to pull the plug. That five-ton iron hook is my ground. If I can bridge the two, game over. Let's see how you handle a short circuit.
1:37:07 Back to zero. Is... is it over? Hardly. That was a janitor. You just alerted the owner. What the... You let her mark you. We're so dead now.
1:37:52 I'm not... Hurt? It's just a mark, you idiot. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. I suggest to start with some sleep. Tomorrow, the real trouble begins. Let them come. I'm done being invisible.
1:38:52 Absolutely incredible. So some quick notes on this one, some additional context I've been given by Paul, the producer Is that this was actually posted over a month ago and no doubt it would have taken him several Weeks or months to make this. So we're thinking, you know, this isn't the latest sort of video model. So to pull off this texture and this universe so convincingly with sort of Older tech is even more impressive with that context, As well as this is obviously episode zero. And so no doubt he'll be making more in this series. And so this is sort of like a showcase to the world he's building. And this is really, really cool stuff. What did you think, mate? I thought it was really good. I thought the style was good.
1:39:38 People saying in the chat, totally cool. Me of a mixture of the gorillas and spider-man multiverse one that the spider-verse yeah yeah Yeah that's such a good combination of references yeah that type of feeling but um yeah I thought It was good and the story was good as well like I was watching it thinking to myself that could Easily just be on youtube or on the netflix or something like that and it is it is I wouldn't Think anything that I just think like some production company put it together like a big Production company disney or is this sony but the fact that was it henry something that just put This together and yeah exactly it's so impressive isn't it and like I think some of the notes here
1:40:24 Are the the construction of the narrative was so impressive in that one and the like solid Storytelling animation style characters the consistency the aesthetic it was so gamified My favorite comment actually came in from mary earlier on saying if this was a game like a mass Multiplayer online role-playing game I would play it holy smokes you know I felt that same thing Watching the first few scenes I was like if this was like a runescape or a world of warcraft or Whatever you know this is a game that I'd like to drop into and have one of these characters and It ticked a lot of boxes and it may be the first one on the show where it's all ones in the chat. If you haven't already voted, the poll's about to close. So slam in your last minute votes.
1:41:11 Incredible, huh? And this is in the bits and bobs part of the show where this is just like, you know, the first of many of the series. And what an incredible find to be posted a month ago. Oh, my God. Yeah. Also Not from France I'm being told Which was a really dumb thing for me to say So yeah check him out though He is everywhere, he's on YouTube, he's on LinkedIn We found him through LinkedIn, this post Specifically but as I said We've worked with him at Coca-Cola in the past And he's so incredibly talented that we're going to Hopefully have him on for a full episode To watch a whole load of stuff Which will be exciting Yeah I'd love to see more of his stuff
1:41:56 All right I think the audio is not coming through for me mate sorry say that again what did you say I know I was saying I'd like to see more of his stuff they look really good you know the audio Yeah it's coming in delayed on my side I'm not sure why maybe it's my headphones I just Disconnected a new pair of headphones so I'm just getting a little bit of delay Yeah so the next one we're going to watch is um bird short film we don't exactly know the title Who it's by. So if anyone's got any further information about this one, we'd really like To know in the chat. We found it on X, and we really don't know anything about it other than We thought it was interesting enough animation to showcase as in the bits and bobs section. Again,
An uncredited bird short: who made it?
1:42:43 Just a totally different style. So let's check it out. And if anyone knows any more information, Please let us know.
1:44:46 Oh, my God.
1:46:06 That was fun, huh? And so instantly people saying just loving this little bird, angry bird character, Angry bird, the movie, you know, lots of funny little things. If you know, though, like I said, just to give it a bit more, we found this on X uncredited And usually that would mean it doesn't make the show, but we felt that this was a fun Little showcase of a really nice bird character so we did make it make the show but even if you Don't know now if you find out before monday so that we can have it in the newsletter to exactly Who made this it would be really nice I I went on a rant earlier about not showcasing who it was so Obviously we really want to know but yeah what do you think mate yeah as I said I thought it was Very cute it was very well done it was a good story I can just see multiple um of these cartoons
1:46:58 Uh and again once you start watching it and then you've gone beyond ai and you're just watching it Wondering what happens that's when you know you're onto something and yeah that's that's a really Really good one exactly what afrofuture said you know when you forget that you're watching ai and It's just you watching something fun and engaging and again this didn't have an overall story did It it wasn't like a progression it was more like multiple scenes and multiple different scenarios Videos that this bird character could find themselves in. So not judging on its overall narrative, but just more as a showcase of a consistent Character in different scenes. And it was just a clever use case. So again, we'd love to know again who it was by, but yeah, kind of fixated on the character. Everyone sort of voted the same, you know, it was a strong watch, even though it wasn't
1:47:48 So much of an overall narrative thing or anything. And again why it goes straight into our like bits and bobs showcase we're gonna have to skip a few Because like sadly I've just been chatting too much and there's so much being sent into us every Week so we're gonna get through to some next ones obviously legend of the show haven't heard from him In a little while dave clark comes up next um so really excited by this one this one's a three and A half minute watch and it's called paper cut this is a new animated film concept that he's developing New new staff the idea came from his son um we were taking uh we were talking and as he said he Wished that there was a movie about blazean kid surviving a zombie apocalypse so that's the
PAPERCUT by Dave Clark
1:48:35 Context for why this one was made let's check it out you ever get a paper cut ouch Terrible right you ever get a paper cut from a terrifying zombie comic Where it magically brings them to life? Are you done with your quiz? Well? You keep this up and you will end up in military school. Carter, there is no such thing as zombies. What the heck is going on?
1:49:27 Anyone ever tell you your breath smells like a hippo's ass? Get out! You're suspended indefinitely! It's like they came to life after I cut my finger. It's like they fed off my blood. Dude, you have totally lost your mind. People really thought I was capping. But I knew I wasn't crazy! This was no Slenderman BS. These things, these were real and thirsty for blood.
1:50:32 This is my story. And it gets crazy. Ooh, taffy. Mom, I'm serious. They were right behind me. They were out there. They're still out there. Baby, you probably just had a nightmare. No, I didn't. They followed me. This is going to be a long night. We needed to fight back.
1:51:23 So That was for me great uh from from I think why I liked it more than anything was the context
1:52:18 Beginning he was having a chat with his son and then he said I wonder if this happened then he Went away and built created this you know as as as we are both parents of very very young boys You know that's if we could do something like that it's it's uh yeah amazing I really like that It's so good um getting all that context you know the fact that at that moment with his son and that This all was born out of that idea and like isn't it incredible like I just think about hugo too I Think about all of the childhood stories that I'm going to be able to visually tell him and have him Get so immersed in the creative and we live in incredible times mate that is that is true dave Is also an incredible director though you know if anyone doesn't know dave that's watching this
1:53:07 He is, you know, a classically trained script writing, you know, Hollywood director, like literally, and been doing it for a long, long time. So that's, again, more context for those that don't know Dave. He's been on the show multiple times in the past and even told us he's a script first type producer, which was different to Meta Puppet and others that, you know, go visually and stuff. So interesting. Vote, vote, vote, vote. Voting um yeah getting lots of stuff coming in here technically well executed yeah really really Good really sorry about audio guys if you're having any sort of audio spill issues from me I've had two pairs of headphones die on me in this episode so that's never a fun place to be
1:53:54 When you're in a live show so yeah sorry if you're getting any overspill or seeing me come in a little Bit glitchy or whatever yeah getting ones in the comments coming in yeah it's crazy like imagine Your kids and make this stuff like it's going to change lives I reckon way more people will get Into producing creative content as kids because this is their experience with ai it's going to be Game-changing truly definitely I think this um like I said it's that story behind it being able To do that it's definitely motivation definitely motivation and also so hyperframe just said guys Suno versus uh suno 5.5 is awesome I actually thought the music was great in it as well like Dave does dabble with the music and we talk a lot in whatsapp about this metapuppet 2 you know
Is Suno 5.5 good enough to score AI films?
1:54:43 Version 5.5 is a big breakthrough in the audio yeah guys if you're going to make stuff please Don't use as much copyrighted music because it might not make the show so suno 5.5 is legitimately Good enough if you get access to make your own music that works with your pieces so this is a Really big pro tip thank you hyperframer and great point out there mate right quickly going to get Got two more I want to showcase this one I'm really excited about. It was actually premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and it was commissioned by Mini Max By the door brothers. This one is called Death Lane and it's just a preview. So we're going to be watching a four minute piece here. I've actually got like some inside baseball knowledge that hopefully we're going to see
Death Lane preview by The Dor Brothers
1:55:30 The full 20 minute piece from this thing about the end of May. They're hoping to sort of have it finished by you know give or touch that it could take a little bit Longer here or there to actually before before we play it um just because it's coming up to Like some people might have to uh jump out yeah next week when is the show because theresa said Is it next week tuesday or oh yeah um maybe not I'm in lisbon next week guys so probably it's not Going to have a show next week because it wouldn't make sense to have it on tuesday being that we've Just have this on friday and we've only really got three days between then and now really so It's not going to be on next week but look out for it the week after probably back on the regular Schedule of tuesday again so yeah just not next tuesday but the week after we'll be back
1:56:18 Cool um yeah so again it's just a preview the full 20 minute things coming out at the end of may I'm Actually it was just announced interviewing the door brothers in lisbon next week so the reason Because I'm interviewing these guys on stage in Lisbon. So last chance to get your tickets for that. And yeah, let's watch it. Well, we've been on this road. Funny how it all looks the same. Every mile just rose into the next one. Every sign's a different thing. You keep saying we're close to somewhere
1:57:08 Just a matter of time I don't think your old man likes me much. What makes you say that? We've just got nothing in common. Sit across from him at dinner and the guy doesn't say a word. That's just how he is. I still don't have a birthday gift for him. What do we get? Six-pack of Coors. Fuel's about to run out. Check where the next station is.
1:57:53 That's going to take a while. Stay here. I'll go pay. Okay, Captain. Oh, yeah? Keep that attitude. See what happens later. I'll be right back. I'd like to pay for pump one, please.
1:58:39 Pay now or after? What do you mean? Never mind. I'm sorry.
1:59:27 We should find a motel soon. Yeah, I'm not doing another hour of this. That gas station felt weird. We're in the desert. That's where all the serial killers are. That car just sitting there. Probably some drug dealers or something. Yeah. I don't know. It just gave me a creepy feeling. Didn't seem like the kind of car you'd see out here. You do this. Do what? Cling on to something and then... I'm not clinging. I'm just saying... Forget it. Jesus! What the hell was that? I don't know. Did you hit something? No. No, I didn't. It sounded like you did. No, I know. It just cut out.
2:00:12 That's not good. Yeah, I'll check it. Right now? Yeah, what else am I going to do? I think it just... Overheated maybe what did you say I think it just overheated maybe I don't I don't see anything Just give it a minute Oh no that's great What a trailer huh he's so intrigued as to what the 20 minute thing will reveal about the car
2:00:58 And about the characters but the level of realism mate the character consistency the overall like How his voice looks like it actually comes from that guy and the acting and the interactions and The multiple people in every shot you know this is a new level for me like overall I was blown Away by this seeing it live on the big screen was the 20 minute version or just no just this version But like truly I was just this version alone on the big screen in front of the other stuff we Were watching it was like this stood out like a sore thumb it was insane on the big screen because The sound design and everything you know that you're so in it you know like the gas station The car the badge that every single bit of this I was like oh my god I can't wait to watch the 20
2:01:48 Minute version of this thing it's such a great trailer for it and yeah what happened in the Cinema where people just clapping and mate there was shock there was visible shock people were like Because we were watching things which to be fair were made very many months ago with older tech Like so incredibly advanced like literally to the week of the you know event uh using the very Latest tools as they do you know just working crazy hard on on all of this to make this last Minute for the event so against everything else it felt like it shouldn't even be in the same Showcase to be honest with you because yeah it was just kind of wild so yeah wow yeah yeah that
2:02:36 Is it kevin the kid when he had one where it was a long it was like a trailer for the longer version Yes this is the definite you know selling the universe is such a great way isn't it to get you Anticipated and market the next piece which is the like much bigger longer effort thing where There's lots of reveals I like the allure in this one there's just so much to get like this symbol Right there you know what is that symbol why was it on that car what does that mean is he part of Illumina easier as well yeah yeah and this this level of character acting is just so next level And the car consistency the character consistency everyone's vote in ones get get your votes in and Sorry we're going a bit over we started a bit late guys if you need to leave you need to leave it's
2:03:21 Absolutely fine um sorry about that you know I wanted to make sure we watched this piece this Week though being the context of I just watched it on the big screen and it was it was gasps mate it True gasps in the theater because compared to I say like the things we were watching before It's just was like holy this is the ai of right now yeah you know and everything else was here Was the ai storytelling of previous months and stuff like that and this was just like no this Is really right now you know it was mad they break down how they made it or how have they Made the full version already or if they like this is just the beginning we're gonna make it later Yeah he had a keynote with mini max on stage who had commissioned this piece and they talked about It um jonathan was talking about it but there's going to be a much bigger reveal obviously so and
2:04:11 I like the allure too you know the guesswork and uh it's such a different thing from them you know Like they do this thing where they create these universes and and it's we're now captivated as you Said kavan the kid and others there's a few that are doing this where we're like oh my god I'm Bought in whatever this series turns out to be I'll watch it and this is so clever from a marketing Perspective of like doing the trailer and then doing the longer piece and this is the you know The sort of like build up of hype for it and we're here to give it a platform to give it more hype and Excited to be interviewing him and finding out more I'll tell you more after next week in lisbon That's that's for sure yeah yeah yeah definitely definitely please do fire you know absolutely
2:04:56 Crazy like saved some of the best till last hour yeah so um the last one I'm gonna watch and you Know I'm got I'm kind of proud of us for the last few episodes in terms of the final final ones we Watch being some of the like show stoppers of the show and you guys have dwelled around this whole Two hours and we we we see the numbers you know we see the dwell time we we're gonna hopefully up The overall watch people but the people that watch us watch for the whole show and we really appreciate You so like comment subscribe all of that get all that in before you know we watch the final piece And I really appreciate you staying over the time for those people that are now past the two hours That we were showing on the show so uh we might have two more to go actually again you can drop
2:05:46 Out mate if you want to as well um I know that you know we are definitely going over and so Just wanted to get these last pieces in because we're going to have a Week skip so it'll feel like you know yeah yeah yeah so um I believe the next one we're going to Watch is uh although paul might change this but we have one called pie hard which is absolutely Oh no we're gonna watch uh uncanny harry first so uncanny harry aka ryan phillips this is a short With no name this was made with just one mid-journey image and everything else was inside Sea dance apart from the suno music track so with all of that context let's watch this piece
Uncanny Harry's one-Midjourney-image short
2:06:47 Never gets old, does it? It's endless. That's my favorite part about it. I look up there at all those burning suns, and I just feel wonderfully insignificant. Dad, doesn't it make you feel like nothing we do down here matters? That's exactly the point, Leo. Look at it. Compared to that, we are nothing but tiny specks of dust floating in the dark. But if we're all just dust, then no one's important. There's no grand, heavy purpose weighing us down. Nothing matters unless you make it matter. The universe doesn't decide what's important. We do. Take this dust and we choose to care about each other come on then sunshine we need to choose to
2:07:36 Go home for dinner before your mother murders the pair of us absolute london legend is uncanny harry And someone commented in the last piece the aspect ratio was an interesting choice I think it was Yeah these two it feels cinematic doesn't it to have it in this like cropped aspect ratio and I love the british accent of the main character very rarely do we get like a lead character that's Not an american voice because all the 11 labs tools and that you know they have american voices But not so many good british ones so for me this was the overall winner you know in terms of like Nailing the character voice made that like 10 out of 10 for me you know what about you yeah I thought
2:08:26 Was really good I thought the other thing I've noticed there's a lot of cartoons this week yes Mate animation is great and see dance can handle it mate that's why see dance specifically you know One mid-journey reference image for the style and then c dance for the overall thing I'll get your Votes in I should have said get your votes in yeah this again to me it's like this universe Is character I want to know more you know I want a longer piece I want this to be a bigger universe Totally sold me on this one and I'm so curious the planet that they're on like California girls Saying you know and more of the characters on this planet and all of that stuff so yeah I mean Afro footcher knows you know she was just on stage with him literally yesterday in London Even with yeah I'm loving it I really really love this one glad again we got time to showcase this
2:09:17 And you guys loitering I love you you know keep keep loitering with us right okay so the next one Is um pi hard this is the one I was saying before this is a really really crazy one by the ai or die Crew which is you know the names kind of speaks for itself um so yeah let's check it out What if I told you the laws of physics were literally being destroyed I'd say you were going crazy Maybe I am crazy. This was supposed to be our timeline. And somehow we ended up over here. This isn't a glitch.
PI HARD by AI OR DIE
2:10:03 Let it go. I'm going to need someone who isn't afraid of risk. Fry! Listen to me very carefully. I'm going to get you out. The scientists are now saying that there are a series of baffling incidents that appear To defy the known laws of physics. The math doesn't add up anymore, which means someone, something, is changing the math. It's like they built a back door into the universe. Uh-oh. Hello, Neil.
2:10:51 Time to divide everything by zero. Ha ha ha ha ha. Neil, we're gonna die! Let me think, mother f***er. Oh, s***. Stop them. They're getting away. To be honest, this whole theory sounds pretty out there. You really shouldn't have called me, Neil. You don't understand. He's collapsing the goddamn multiverse. I'm not going back, Neil! Send in the fucking drones. So it was all a big, fat lie! I thought I told you to shut him down.
2:11:41 It's not what you think. Ouch. Not the Nutella. I'm allergic. Instead of die hard yeah how did they like not so much how they've done it like how did they Manage to get all of these I know there's so many questions yeah yeah there's so many questions with This one but like the amount of famous people and the likeness and the sound likeness you know Neil stegraaf tyson if you don't know he's a famous physicist and uh you know sam bakeman freed
2:12:29 As we're seeing here and like uh you know there's so many you know musk in there yeah Bill gates like a crazy showcase of their creative abilities you know and it's just absurdity and Famous people and it's you know it's it's potentially you know like not the greatest in Terms of they might get a lot of backlash from these people or whatever but like it's just Is parody of, you know, contextual politics and lots of stuff, But mostly it's just a showcase of their creative abilities. You know, apparently they're a trio. And again, we might have them on for a showcase Because they've got so much out there of their own on the future. And just ask them these things like,
2:13:15 How did you get these past the guardrails? What do you use if they want to reveal, you know, All of these questions, but vote now, last vote of the day. What was that for you? It was just something crazy and absurd, obviously, to close out the show. And it's not real, like compared to the ads and the real short films and the new universes And IPs that we've been watching in the show. This is just complete opposite end of the spectrum AI stuff, which is just absurd, you Know, pop culture, satire, like kind of like what the old door brothers was, you know, Like we saw some of the old door brothers using similar figures, didn't we? Like from a famous point of view and there is lots of satire to be had but this universe where you Know neil's degrasse tyson and elon musk and the you know the tesla bill gates all of this the
2:14:00 Vaccines you know so many references it's uh kind of hilarious and you know we've got a we've got A platform for it all you know this is in the bits and bobs final showcase of the day sort of pieces You know just a funny little bit um we do know that actually the tools used on that one were Uh Grok AI so that's probably why it's not quite a lot free pick cling AI fish audio which I've Not heard of fish.audio yeah I'll probably that one that's that's good for um voice cloning as Well oh yeah that would be the how they did the clone and then so 11 labs as well and see dance 2.0 with ByteDance um if you could like and leave a comment on this video after the show we see you
2:14:46 Popping up in the live show but it would be really cool if you guys could actually give us a proper Youtube video comment you know which it helps us boosting the algorithm and get out to new people And all of that so something we've noticed is I'll send this show to a lot of people that were on the Show this week that maybe didn't watch their live stuff but we're getting ones throughout you know Like they were getting slammed in the pole so it'd be great to show bro not only do we love it One that watches us loved it as well well it's going to be going to be some happy faces hopefully After this show what do you think of the intro and outro music mate we introduced this in the Last few weeks and it's kind of nicer like well paul will just bring in a beat and then we can

2:17:09 Just more more more um from the viewing perspective yeah definitely yeah that's Like this week it was music all the way wasn't it it was the overall theme of the week the music was Insane this week yeah good old mtv uh I love it beer at 10 20 a.m you can tip oh you're in america Or maybe he's in vietnam or somewhere like this you know I'm not even sure thanks for the show Intro and outro music is nice that's so that's great feedback because again we didn't know if Talking over music would be distracting that was my biggest worry about music in the background with Uh doing the show but obviously if you guys telling us that the levels are all good and all
