1:52 I haven't got a haircut actually but I don't usually you know reveal my hair because of the Hat situation so yeah where's closest glasses I lost my red ones Jimmy on the road in London so I've ordered a few new pairs because they're just cheap old ones but I don't know where they're Over there somewhere have you yeah yeah yeah am I where I'm at I'm in the same house as like same Place as I always am it's just that where I am it's you know I'll walk with my laptop so you can Actually see so this is usually what where you usually see me like that but as you can see the Sun and I can't block it as you might be able to see so I have to go to the other side and I can't To the gym side so I'll come to his side so that's where I am so yeah so that's why I'm same room but

2:42 Different area if you're in the uk not much too much sun is not a problem that you're having right Now uh let us know if you've been caught up in any of the storms oh my god coming back from london I was delayed like five plus hours in all of that storm it was wild there were like six council Trains in a row and I had to get a rare replacement yeah bus service in the end from crew which was Like oh my god but we all got home safe and yeah it was worth the trip so that's good that is good How is everyone in the chat everyone's saying prime andrew yeah behind the scenes there where The parrots they're not here at the moment I've not heard yeah they might appear later in the show Yeah they might appear later but I've not heard from them I think since last week so yeah really Been around yeah so yeah um sun in the uk in october no I'm not in the uk caroline that's why

3:34 Yeah andrew's gonna pump some iron while watching videos oh yeah Oh to the side yeah that jim's more there just for stretching nowadays at my age it's just more Stretching and and stuff like that we actually saw and I might have to grab it because I'm not I'm not sure if I grabbed it, but there was some Kung. I know I did grab it. There was a Kung Fu film and I thought about you when I saw this one, Because I was like, I wonder how true the martial arts is, you know, And Andrew will be able to tell about all of that. So that'll be a fun one later on. Yeah, obviously we've got some dark stuff. It's Halloween, guys. You know, this is the last show before Halloween happens. So lots of the submissions have been in the horror category stuff. Even we got one from Legend that is Afrofuture.

4:23 Bit of a psychological thriller as well coming up later in the show so that's going to be fun and Exciting really like that style yeah we've got one from 404 films that way yes that's coming Later yes oh jimmy thank you so much for submitting to the show yes a lot of the usual suspects but Some new ones as well grog bots helped find some marco actually legend of the show helped find quite A lot this week as well actually uh one of his finds is the news that I want to sort of start And talk about initially so this is really cool man like you know claude now is an editing tool You know and by that I don't mean it has to talk to davinci resolve or premiere pro or one of the Actual editing tools like it itself can actually now do like compilations and different treatments

Is Claude now a video editing tool?

5:15 And stuff like this and I'm starting to see people experiment with this really creatively recently Marco highlighted this one um is from a guy on x called amikoda and even though this isn't my Sort of style I'm not really into manga and anime and stuff like that you can see that this type of Thing is just going to be used so much for people that do love this type of style so I'm going to Showcase this first and basically what he's done here is he's given claude a bunch of different Asked it to create the style that you'll see which is the compilation of clips so check this out

6:04 Oh Well, really damn cool. So all of that sort of stylized compiling of the videos together, choosing certain clips, All done with Claude. So fascinating where Sea Dance and Claude can work together in this respect, because, You know, and this is the next example I'm going to show by the same guy. Basically, what he did here was create a typical type scene with Mid Journey and Sea Dance

Kōda's slow-motion fight scene with frames added by Claude

6:51 2.5, but then he's asking Claude to add additional things in the like slowed down section of The scene and it's adding these extra. Well, you'll see it visually. Let's watch it. Oh, a crunchy little morsel. Bit off more than you could bite, big guy. First of all how cool is that style but secondly how cool is the additional frames with the sliding

7:42 To add to the sort of like feeling of slow motion like with claude that's the technique there it's Very very cool a new feature of claude or could it always do that it's just that now someone's Actually thinking like out I hate the saying but thinking outside the box on how to use it Um it's a mixture of both actually and we may even see a lot more capabilities coming because Rumored to be dropping today or tomorrow potentially. But yeah, in the next couple of days, it seems like the whispers on the Internet. But it is. So as far as I understand it, there's lots of repos out there that Claude can work With, like Hyper Frames is one of these repos, for example, and that will have Definitely been used in that type of thing. So, yes, it's basically people using Claude plus connectors right now.

8:31 There is called emotion as well but it's only available on a teams and enterprise plan as far As I understand so regular users won't have this motion yet but yeah people are basically getting Creative with it you know and it's connectors and making things work like that and experimenting With new formats it's really cool yeah really really cool I like marco knows and loves fables So uh um I'll add the uh exact uh I'll add the tag because it's not a very easy one to pronounce We've got tech haller in the chat definitely hey check haller bro let's go I don't even see Oh man I'm gonna see him in malaga and I talk to him all the time in whatsapp he's the bro man he Is the bro by the way I told him that grokbot since it's entered the show has started suggesting

9:22 His stuff over and over again because it gets millions of views yeah literally he showed me Some screenshots on youtube where he's getting like tens of millions of views on his youtube Short stuff he's just crashing it so yeah well deserved well deserved yes exactly setting new Standards giving away all of his stuff as well it's so cool to see so I'll put into the chat now Uh the exact uh I think they go by Coda as their sort of handle but then Ami Coda is the app handle Um Ami Ami Coda that's the person yeah yeah AI my Coda Marco gets into the sides of like algorithms That we've never seen mate he was showing me these Asian creators today fully making Asian stuff you

10:10 Know and it's like wow this is like a whole new side of the you know algorithm that I don't Generally see so it's really cool that we're getting suggested stuff as well I wouldn't be Surprised because obviously you've got mag uh manga um yep I wouldn't be surprised if there's Another genre kind of built out of this because oh yeah I remember when um when it first came out There was a one I don't know if anyone in the chat has seen fist of the north star so that was One of the first ones there was one called akira tank police one called the I think it's called The North Star this was when it first came out and that's when I remember watching it thinking Oh what a cool style and then my favorite one was called Ninja Scroll um and that was another Brilliant one and I wouldn't be surprised if they kind of come up with almost another another genre

10:55 Which is yeah some form of style I wouldn't be surprised yeah exactly manga manga yeah The fusion of Styles is what's really interesting isn't it as well like we're seeing like all these Styles emerge and it's really really cool to see actually that guy that um I see a lot that uh Avon art and this one by uh oh I should have said at the top of the show if we go dark at any point I the stream gets cut it's because I haven't been able to copyright flag the music this week however Youtube has a policy with the live streams now basically where as soon as you stop playing the Copyrighted material we should go back live again and the stream will get reinstated so that's what Week when we accidentally hit that snoop dog music video and then just went offline for a little bit

Poison Ivy and the era of mash-up styles

11:46 So if at any point you just see the stream cut out that's what's happened but um this one poison ivy Right a very famous character um I'm seeing lots of styles like this by this type of creator which Are very sort of uh workable on instagram and x and stuff like this but check this one out I really Liked it you got your finger on the trigger but your trigger fingers mine silver dollar golden flame Dirty water poison rain perfect murder take your aim I don't belong to anyone but everybody knows my Name

12:44 Really cool huh yeah it's almost like not quite grand theft auto but it was almost inspired by it It's almost like they've started off with grandfather and then they've kind of twisted It around slightly and kind of remixed it really good stuff I like that and that's what I mean by The mishmashes of stuff you know like stuff that um was animation can be live action like in Cavan the kids stuff you know or the other way around it could be like oh it was live action so We'll make it animation and stuff like that and it's like these sorts of mismatches are really Really interesting this guy by the way is someone that I met at upscale and I met him with black Light and I need to get and reach out to him because I just keep seeing his stuff and again This might flag because he loves using very uh you know big tunes in his things I'm hoping that none

Ink Industries: The Streets

13:34 Of these cut us out on the stream but um the ink industries is the name that he goes by that's Basically his handle ink and ink industries and marco even suggested some of these things to me And he's got various different styles and the first one is just called the streets so let's Check it out

14:23 I'm a loud, I'm a loud There's no vautours, I think we're maudits It's a mess of a bad guy Back in the day, I can't do that I can't do that, I can't do that I can't do that with my baby mama and my Billy Pockets I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch I'm a real bastard, a bit like George George I'm a bad guy, I'm a bad guy So what did you think to that guys? Let's start off first poll. Oh, I put water. Do you did you think one? Did you think that's awesome? We should get this guy on the show. Who you think that's okay? You know, not enough storytelling or three.

15:08 Like it's not really my style. What are your thoughts? We've got several to show by him. I'm I really like his style and like I would like to see some longer things from him. You know, that's more storytelling purposes as well, but stylistic. And just music choices and like editing and oh it's really nice isn't it yeah it was almost Obviously it started off in london and then it had the french hip-hop uh like jumping onto it As well and it was I felt it would be really good music video if that was like yeah right to that Um I would love to see music videos in that style oh my god but yeah I really liked it really liked It it's a nice yeah maybe that's a way to get like a full piece from him like a commissioned music Artist that would make in that style.

15:55 Yeah, everybody's saying they love that piece. I'm so glad that that didn't shock us offline, by the way, because again, A big French artist, it could be something that gets blocked in all territories. Sometimes the labels have really weird issues with like live streaming guys. Basically, that's what I've discovered. You know, if you're broadcasting something live stream, You should have a perpetual license to do so and stuff. So yeah, just we'll be try and be careful on that. I usually run them all through YouTube studio, But I just didn't get time this week. So let's keep watching some more of his stuff though. Again, This one is called the journey to my inner fire. And I really liked this piece and he's, He seems to have mastered this sort of one minute short storytelling, But let me know what you guys think.

Ink Industries: Journey to My Inner Fire

16:59 Mmm

17:49 Is it like different styles that he's playing with I I hope by showing like a bunch of his Videos here that we can really you know show him how much we appreciate him on the regular show like Some of the other people that made the creative sessions so we'll show one more from this guy I've Put the poll up um what did you guys think I love that style uh let us know some more feedback about What you think about that um really good marco says yeah really really good uh cool stuff huh And the last one I want to show from him um is just a superhero type story so again it's like Not much it's only 30 seconds and these sort of things I can see why they're algorithmically very Very good for like instagram and x like I said hopefully we just see them like a few of them

Ink Industries' dark superhero story

18:40 That he has to make them into sort of longer pieces that you know uh we can enjoy as well Because yeah some of these universes man that he's building so cool check this one out I told you not to bring anyone home they are not like us Dad no Again just a clip you know it's like so enticing isn't it to the world that that could potentially

19:29 Be oh my god and what I've noticed is that each one of those is actually quite dark Yeah if you look at that last one is like all right he's not one of us so we killed him and Then there was the other one which was like there was another dark element that was in another one The other one as well like taking it as heart and then giving it to the to the volcano like Was actually really good style but it's actually quite quite a dark element to it as well but yeah Exactly you guys are voting and I haven't even put the uh poll up ink industries he's called Industries yes I will put his exact handle and it looks like a few of you guys haven't actually Caught him so um let me let me type in this oh no spelt it wrong there I'll grab his exact uh

20:20 For you guys yeah I've got it here Ink industries yeah cool huh like and he's experimenting with different styles as well so He's one that I've always wanted to have on the show since I met him at uh upscale with black Light and I just appreciate these people that are just you know making short things that are Very enticing different worlds that we can see and it seems you guys agree so yes um I think that's All sold in we'll get him in a future creative session should he be willing let's keep going um Oh last week we said we were going to watch some more of the uh love letters to cinema didn't we So I've got a few more of those but the last piece of sort of news that I forgot to cover earlier Is uncanny harry's experimenting with a bunch of like blender scenes and you know using these as

Uncanny Harry blocks out scenes in Blender with Claude

21:11 Driving videos, but using Claude and other builders to make these sort of 3d model Scenes. So what you'll see in this next clip is something in the top left-hand corner where You'll see very rough shapes. And these shapes are basically where he wants his characters to be and the camera Movement around these certain things. But you'll see now that the argument against AI for a while has been, you Haven't got control of this, you know, sort of a random slot machine type thing. This type of workflow is actually going very much against that. So let's check it out. So you're gonna show us a good time then? Excuse me ladies, I've got to see a man about a dog.

21:58 You ain't ever gonna come down off that mate. Give it some! Beat me, Martin. Bollocks. So how cool is that you know even though they're just like little rectangles and they've got Different colors and stuff what he's doing is he's asking claude to create an environment with This spacing in between each of the blocks whereby those blocks will be replaced by his characters And then follow this block you know camera follows him pan over to the dance floor where there's Various blocks where people are being filled in by the generative AI but how cool is that that

22:45 It in that level of control now yeah that is that is unbelievable that was really really good well Just the thinking behind it that's that's what impresses me like how he thought about that or Unless it was a new feature yeah kind of yeah like toby hyder and others have been experimenting With this 3d building of scenery to driving video pipeline basically in fact actually um when I Hosted the bionic uh no when I hosted the dreamena event um lisbon laura's one we got an exclusive C dance 2.5 thing where the dreamena team was showing us this they were like you know this one Can uniquely handle like 3d driving videos to really have full control of directorial camera

Can Claude replace learning Blender and Cinema 4D?

23:31 Movements and character positioning and all of this environment stuff but now claude can essentially Bypass your need to know cinema 4d bypass your need to know blender and all the other 3d creation Tools which were very difficult to sort of get to grips with so now you can just ask claude to Build that 3d environment for your driving scene which is the real breakthrough you know truthfully Wow wow wow wow wow new eras mate you know because imagine that you remember when albert Came on as a creator session and we were like oh all of this stuff that you're submitting for Well, that's what you could submit to. You could say, here's the 3D driving scene, exactly the camera movements. It's no roulette anymore. You know, this is exactly how I asked it to be made and how it looks.

24:18 And I've got proof of that pipeline. So that's going to be big, I feel. Someone says, Claude can do video. All right, I must have missed this. What you'll find, San Miguel, it's not so much Claude can create a video. Doing the edit yeah that's what's but it actually can create video but with code with 3js and stuff This is the weird element of but I mean you can't create that the person walking no no you're right Yeah so yeah you're right but yeah in that 3d scene it can create the 3d build it can do so Much it can use tools on your behalf essentially somewhere else yeah that's what's really Fascinating about claude now is it unlocks boxes that didn't exist for most people because they

25:07 Softwares before so yeah so that's it all of the news guys we obviously um we've got a bunch more Of short ones this week because we really like last week's format where we were rattling through I think we got through 20 videos first yeah every time we got through so many videos so we've got a Bunch more short ones including some of the love letters to cinema for those that are unaware of What the love letters to cinema project is because we maybe you didn't um tune in to the last episode When I went to the Shake Film Festival in France, They had a hundred directors sitting in one room and they were given one day. It wasn't even a full day. It was about six to eight hours basically to imagine what their version of a love Letter to cinema would be.

What are the Love Letters to Cinema?

25:54 So these are very personable stories from each of their directors essentially. And this submission was by Paula Tehran and it was number 58 on the Shake Film Actually a link that we'll put um and also subscribe to luma.com forward slash the ai live Show for all of the links of everything we've watched for people that have asked uh I'll put That into the chat as well soon but this entry uh is by paula let's check it out what would become Of us without the masters of darkness without the stories that taught us to look at our own wounds To learn that behind every silence hides a scream. That nightmares can take shape. That sometimes it is easier to face the screen than the horrors waiting outside it.

Paula Tehran's love letter to the masters of darkness

26:45 And still we came back. Back to fear. Back to the scream. Back to witness. Because horror was never only darkness. It was light too. Light to recognize ourselves. To understand what frightens us. To face what we would rather hide. And perhaps that is cinema. Entering the darkness together. And leaving able to see a little more.

27:37 Oh yeah I should have said it's gonna get Halloweeny so uh that was a nice little lovely I didn't even know that was a Halloween theme sort of one so uh that worked pretty well the Polling is now open though what did you guys think to that bring on the darkness says whiskey woven And she's straight in love I like that one yeah I thought that was yeah that was and again that Context really matters doesn't it only six to eight hours in in a room using uh germina to make This happen as their love letter to cinema so it wasn't weeks and days that these guys had It was just a single uh made in that time getting the polls coming in Let you guys on linkedin have a little bit more time Would not want that guy sitting behind me in the theater I agree it kind of gave me um remember

28:27 Donnie darko you're that rabbit you know with the really long ears oh yeah that was creepy Yeah and this sort of screeching music as well someone asked who came up with the idea for this That the love cinema oh um jeremy from the uh shake festival he was the organizer Uh because of the theme of it being in the first ever cinema you know we were literally in the First ever built cinema um which was jeremy actually said it yeah I think jerry was jeremy You actually said it yeah 100 letters project seems incredible and then and then yeah yeah Yeah there you go there you go big you up jeremy because it was such a great idea to be honest it

29:13 Was well done well really well I love just seeing not just the creative ideas but different ways That we can get our content out there in a creative way I love that just as much as the idea sometimes Like what people are doing you know it's it's amazing so well done jeremy and everyone else Is doing stuff like that exactly and me and martin thought that you know as hackathons sort of go Uh or like you know creation sessions more like that one was less like a hackathon because there No real competition to it it was just you know do your thing I thought it was a really really good One and it was all in tied tied into the festival because we were in the home place of cinema So it all worked as like a a full thing so yeah really really cool anyway let's keep going with These this next one was um by florian bond again I'm so bad with the pronunciations of names but

Florian Bond's love letter: raised by films

30:05 They sign off lovely signatures at the end there actually that was some of the ones that people Were panicking to do because they have to animate all of their own signatures coming in at the end On that little clip so they were like scrambling to get this done by the deadline but let's check it Out I've loved films since I was little and the more I had the more I wanted at first I chose them By their covers bright colors funny faces worlds I'd never seen before I didn't always know what Into. I just wanted another one. Some I went back to so often I almost knew them by heart. As I got older, I got braver. I tried stranger stories, even the ones that scared me.

30:56 Little by little, I found my own taste. What moved me and what wasn't for me. And when I found something I loved, I couldn't keep it to myself. Here, you have to try this. All those stories become part of us they shape the way we see the world The way we love the people we are today we were raised by films That was brilliant yeah eating DVD covers yes but what sold it to me especially on that one

31:47 First of all I thought how visually human the people looked and how good the sort of pacing Was but then I thought oh this voiceover is brilliant and then I was like oh the whole Premise of eating DVD covers throughout the entire thing is also great you know like all Of those things married together made that a straight one for me uh I'm gonna vote on that One in the chat what did you guys think though the whole thing is now open it wasn't a hackathon Exactly it was a collaborative experience and and yes that's what I should have said it was um Just so awesome to see so many different filmmakers from all around the world in the same room Together the other thing that was crazy mate is that the public were just walking in There was there was a lovely like woman and man and her little daughter just walking around

32:35 Seeing all of these like uncanny harry's and diane and all these amazing like filmmakers and just like Peering behind their laptops and stuff it was kind of fun it was kind of funny not knowing how big They would actually be oh my god you know like these guys are gonna be you know some of the Biggest in the world no doubt yeah they really are they already are I didn't realize it's kind of mad Yeah especially because some of them were looking at the sign like what is this exactly you know They didn't even really they didn't know what they were looking at and then they were like Seeing it on the screen because when you submitted it jeremy had set up a system where some of them Would show on a screen so people were just walking in and looking at the screens and going you guys Made all this today like what where's the cameras you know where's the where's the whatever where's

33:24 The studio the traditional because they look so real as well that's the crazy thing so you said They were having problems with the signature how would they create in the signature was it in Dreamy um in uh c dance yeah so basically it wasn't problems but someone was just scrambling To get this done before they had to leave the building because you know you had to get out by A certain time and they'd left this last pit you know where the animated signature because dreamy Sadly went down for like an hour and people were like you know uh leaving it to the last minute You know to try and get stuff done and ah but yeah lots of votes coming in for that one let's keep Going rapid fire as I said we've got lots of these um again we're going to watch more and more of These in future weeks we've got 100 of them in total and so many were so good in this project So again kudos to jeremy for getting so much out of people I thought the value of this especially

34:14 For germina to be involved in this is incredible you got a hundred minutes of like good quality Personal content from some of the best directors in the world you know like amazing value So this one is by uh mario orius let's check it out In the beginning there was darkness and it was said let there be light and there was light And the light pierced through the darkness, and gleams and shadows arose. So did silence and sound, nothingness and the whole, thunder, clamor, and a fire.

Mario Orius's love letter

35:04 For he who cries and shouts can be born to laughter, tears, movement, expanse, and time. And we saw that it was good, this mirror of what we are. And within us, it came to life. Very very cool and again it's all people's exact interpretation you know they got to choose

35:52 Whatever they thought that their adaptation of cinema meant to them so um what did you guys Think to that one let's uh oh I finished that poll I'll I need to make a new poll sorry what did you Guys think yeah I thought that again I appreciate when paul uh is here to do all this for me so It's tough to keep it off I forgot about it and diogo says dame judy dench is gonna sue somebody Yeah sounds very very much like her oh really yeah I didn't even think about that oh my god Right get your votes in now guys what did you guys think to that one so yeah we're going to try and Rattle through these so get your votes in really quick sorry for those of you on linkedin that we Don't really have time uh I know you've got a bit of a delay but yeah we're going to be watching

36:41 Some longer pieces later so we'll have plenty of time to get your votes in on all of those But these are just quick one minute pieces California girl like that one again this is very personal isn't it you know like I I felt like some Of them um I I was like oh wow you know if you come from that sort of background or if you really Like uh empathize with that type of introduction to cinema it would be fascinating to see someone Else's like very similar backstory to yours you know like enacted through like visuals like this That one was number 79 by the way if you guys want to go look it up on the shake site um under The love letters section they've got there that was 79 mario orias and the next one is number 53

Claudio de Ilia's love letter

37:29 By claudio de ilia um so we'll get the last votes coming in for that one and uh let's check out Claudio's MUSIC PLAYS

38:25 I'm sorry.

39:11 Okay guys get your votes in on that one what did you think one awesome two okay three not for me To seem diane drop into the chat afternoon afternoon how's it going hello here so she Really likes that one and again it's like what I said guys you might find your like personal Backstory resonates really closely with some of these yeah um otherwise you might just enjoy the Visuals or like no no voiceover on that one I noticed it was lots of music and nice visuals but Visual storytelling is just as interesting I think if you're french you definitely have some Feeling towards that sort of cinema you know a lot of french cinema classically is very rich Visual storytelling and metaphorical you know yeah yeah that was a very strong one I really Like that one it was um it was a great it was a I don't know what I'm appreciating more this week

40:02 Was as you said that love letter to film like everyone's interpretation what film means to them Um yeah yeah so it's it's these are quite difficult to judge oh yeah that's why I'm Glad it wasn't a competition you know yeah so in fact we're doing it a disservice by slapping a Pole on it really because it's someone's personal story about cinema I just realized that but you Know hopefully they recognize that this is the premise of the show and uh you know we have live With that audience that's the whole reason to be lying so no offense to anyone that's seeing twos If you're watching and you made it you know again this is your personal story it wasn't a judge it Wasn't a competition and I've tried to be fair by letting everyone know you did it in only one day So that they don't think it's a true like you know oh this is this guy's capability or this woman's

Should personal films be put to a vote?

40:53 Capabilities it's like no that's what you could do in one day inside a room you know like uh with This brief. So it was a different type of project. But this is the last one we'll watch. This one is by Daniel Atzel, and I believe it was number 56 in the love letters. Let's check it out. He's following the tracks.

Daniel Atzel's love letter

41:57 Don't let him shoot. She's not alone. How did you know? That's why I love movies. The dark doesn't hide anything. It lets you feel the truth. Yeah, that's real powerful, that one. So, voting's now open for that one, guys. You guys think one awesome two okay three not for me anita I can see when you add a message after

42:43 The one it's not coming through as a vote so just maybe add your ones and twos and three separate Guys and then add your comment afterwards because it doesn't look like our system's picking it up Uh when you add your comments in the same as your votes just to let you know Yeah lots of ones coming through for that one wow that one really resonated clearly Is when it comes to the brief as well I'm just because I started thinking what would be my love Letter forget the creating of it what would even be the the concept of it right did they know this Before um they got there well they kind of had the loose idea that it was a love letter to cinema But then when in the room jeremy was like you know a bit more specific uh I think but but there were

43:29 No pre-preparing of assets or anything like that you know it had to be done within the actual day Tony Harry's we watched last week was like full on Matrix and all the action. You know, him starring as the lead role. And, you know, that's why it was so good as a brief, because you get all these Interpretations and styles and choices. Yeah, it tugged at the heartstrings, that one for sure, too, especially, you know, With the little boy saying that last line there about why he loves cinema and it Being true and all that is brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I'm so glad that we are going to continue watching these love letter series and That you've found them so interesting. Like me, I, I actually almost entered the only reason I didn't is because I was trying to

44:19 Live stream parts of it, you know, Cause I was getting unique access to some of the directors there and I got Some clips that will hopefully show in a future episode as well recorded in the Actual place. But yeah, really, really cool. What would your what would jaws have been ah well it's uh definitely got involved my dad Because my dad really was the introduction to cinema for me and movies and all of that I didn't quite have the Toby experience you know where he saw what was it he saw uh when he was Five years old he saw um a men in black wasn't it he saw the men in black at cinema that was his Love letter but I had a similar type thing you know where my dad took me to cinema for the first Really young I just remember getting that popcorn and and being like oh my god what is this um

What would your love letter to cinema be?

45:11 And like yeah like over the years it's just evolved so much isn't it I'd have to include Stuff like Netflix and other things like uh watch parties in Australia with my friends down there Like that was really when I got really into it you know um oh man what was your what would yours Be I really wouldn't even know like like you I guess I have to go through like the earliest Film I remember seeing in the cinema was the fox and the hound the disney film and I remember and I remember going to see that with my dad and then I just remember going there with my sister and Watching some films and then there's the whole when you're going on dates and films like that And then obviously there's the whole streaming side of things and your favorite films and When I was working in the world of entertainment big tech going to screenings of certain films

46:01 That were great and so yeah there's there's loads but I guess I find it really hard to come up with A brief like if I didn't know beforehand because I'd have to go away have a think brainstorm with Chat gpt and yeah what would you have to do so yeah I just feel that the other thing you've got To remember is like can I get this done in the time period and that's what a lot of people freaked Story and how good you were able to simplify that, I think was a testament. Yeah, Toby's. Yeah, I just loved it. It was the main feature last week, obviously, with his style as well. And this voiceover that he did. I think that was definitely one of my favorites, too. And sorry, Pierre, that you missed out. However, get in touch with Jeremy. He's literally been in the chat today about being in the future sessions,

46:49 Because no doubt Shake Festival will be running, you know, if not every year, Then um you know there will be another shake film festival that you can get involved in but it was On the day so it's not something that you can submit to later unfortunately but why not do it You know if you want to just do that as a piece of content on linkedin to say I was inspired by The shake film festival love letter series made my own interpretation of this brief generally had to Be one minute that was the contest rule well not contest but you know the entry requirements um Um so yeah tell your story within one minute of what cinema means to you I'd love to see it Submit it to the show California said I would have made a homage of growing up in LA and film Shoots blocking traffic going to film premieres on the weekend was a scene oh my really yeah what

47:37 Would you guys be yeah what would everyone in the chat what would your be not not obviously Not make it but what would be your concept you know what would it be for you and feel Free to just like I say make it post it submit it to us like um we're going to be doing these For several more weeks we've got a hundred to get through so yeah plenty of time to catch the wave With this the next one um we're going to start showing is a spec ad and it's the only spec ad That I think we've got all this week so uh get your spec ads in if you're making spec ads out There you know we we are an advertising agency so really it's kind of crazy that we don't show more Of these but we just don't see that many submitted to us so lots of short films lots of horror stuff

Storm, the only spec ad of the week

48:23 Especially this week that we're going to be watching very shortly but this one is just called Storm a spec ad by j nuboisier I'm gonna have to uh put that one in the chat because can't Do it at all but let's check it out I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

49:08 I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Storm향이는 절대 안 줘요. Wait, you understand korean? Yes, of course. I just let you two finish roasting my club first. Storm, your scent speaks every language. That was a really good concept, but there was just something missing on the execution and I can't put I don't know whether it was the way he spoke it sounded very ai I don't know but it was it was a

49:56 Really good concept but it was just one little thing missing and that's the only thing but I Like that anything that insults man united I'm a fan of anyway I was gonna say if that was an arsenal Shirt or a newcastle how would we have felt about that one I don't know if that was arsenal I'd have Been like that's not funny but yeah man united yeah you can you you can take the mic they're Rates right now aren't they so uh blessed of anyone that's a man united fan out there josh I know from wonder studios and other people I feel sorry for you man if you're a man United Fan right now but the voting's now open what did you guys think to that one uh again I agree with You mate premise wise definitely a one execution wise definitely a two uh so I'm sort of like a

50:43 1.5 for that one I guess and probably it would be a two category for me uh yeah I think it was It was like all right he's gonna obviously understand the language understand what they're Saying yeah yeah I was just the writing was kind of good wasn't it like the early the first 30 Second chunk I was like oh this is quite funny and then I was like oh this premise is not going To work unless it's pulled off perfectly and then it wasn't so yeah but good concept like I'm a big Fan of spec ads I really like the spec ad space yeah then they're snappy aren't they and it's Got a conclusion it's got sort of like a punch line it's got a give it's got something yeah so Let's keep going guys um the next one and hopefully um marco's gonna be sending me Something because he said that he's seen a really really cool short story that you

51:30 Monster got on the show as well so during the show trying to get him to download it and send it to me And uh whilst I watch some of these other ones I will try and load it up the next one we're getting Into spooky territories now um it's called the last carriage and um it's by patrick and we need Uh his handle exactly I'll ask you to go to luma.com for slash the live uh the ai live show Newsletter to get all of the um stuff for this but as far as I know it's patrick and I'll try And find out more let's check it out what the hell was that come on move

The Last Carriage

52:17 They're climbing on. Elias? He's got me! My boot! Forget the boot. How many are there? Too many. Get it off me! He bit him! Hold on! The wheel!

53:05 Elias, look at him. I'm... I'm fine. Don't slow down! Clara, jump! Now? Now! Elias... Run! Run! There!

53:50 Give me your hand! Elias, hurry! We got them. Clara. No no no no So guys what did you think to that uh one autumn two okay three not for me let me know someone said It feels like a bit of a sherlock holmes movie daniella said that uh phenomenal says do you go

54:41 Go how do you pronounce that yeah jewie or jewie zero it's getting some votes scary from anita Yes I just keep thinking how cool it is to see those styles pulled off so consistently now you Know even earlier this year it wasn't like that doable to have something that consistent in the Style and and it's had that almost that disley type I was watching it thinking this could be like a The scary Disney film definitely Daigo okay cool cheers Daigo that's good to know yes P if you Stress out from that you're definitely gonna get a lot more stressed out from things to Come I'm very sorry to tell you but we're in spooky season and I personally am not a big

55:27 Horror fan however you know we are in the season for it and uh lots of you guys are so clearly we've Got lots of it um actually whilst we've got diane here I want to definitely show her piece because Um the rent collector is something um that is an animated psychological thriller as I said earlier And I believe this is episode one I.e there's going to be more of this uh show and series to Watch so really excited by that one uh marco sent me a piece as well by jacob zanetti uh which is Just loading in now and uh I believe jacob actually reached this out to me directly during The show so thank you so much uh for thinking of us I think it actually won a film festival as well So we'll be as excited to see that when it loads in but whilst we wait for that let's watch the

The Rent Collector by Afro Futcha

56:17 Rent collector. Who the hell is it? Evening, Mr. Johnson. Rent's overdue. Man, I told you I'll get your money. Three weeks overdue. I told you! I ain't got your damn money!

57:05 Then we'll have to collect another way. What the hell is that? One memory. That's all it'll cost you. Shit. Take the whole damn marriage for all I care. One memory, Mr. Johnson. The house decides which. Yeah, whatever. By morning your account will be settled By morning your account will be settled I'm a stupid bitch

58:14 Got my sounds Thank you, baby. Sweetheart, you mind if I cook these a little longer? Something wrong with my cooking? No, baby. It's fine. I just... You got something to say about my food? Shut the fuck up! No! No, baby, please! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Then eat what I put in front of you.

59:07 No! Look at me when I'm talking to you. Please, baby. I'm sorry. Look at me when I'm talking to you. Please, baby. I'm sorry. What happened to you? Boy! Don't make me call you again!

59:54 Baby, you mind if I change the channel? The fuck you think you're doing? I was just gonna... Can't you leave a damn thing alone? Always gotta have your way! I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean nothing by it. That's your problem. You don't mean nothing, don't do nothing, don't have nothing. You're a good-for-nothing, useless bitch. Look at me when I'm talking to you. I'm dozing to him. You don't dozing to him, Mr. Bitch. Morning, Mr. Johnson. Sir, something's wrong with my wife. Is that so? She's not herself.

1:00:40 Well, Mr. Johnson, seems everything's exactly as it should be. Close that damn door! Oh, my God, that style, man. Great style great concept also I noticed it said episode one yes so that means there's Going to be more episodes of the rent killer I got so into that one that I didn't even prepare My poll so excuse me guys um that one was definitely for me you still in the chat Afri

1:01:28 Future are you still there yes she apologized for the swearing during the yeah oh that was Funny he started straight away I was like wow okay yeah mate I saw you and me both smile in the Back room 10 seconds in I was like beaming at the exact same moment because as I said I think it was Said earlier that uh stfu was dead serious like straight up like from the from the get-go that One was like intense perfect in the theme of you know intenseness uh we're in the spooky season And psychological thriller. Just love the style though. Like a straight one from me, both the style, the storytelling, The character development. You're just so good there. And honestly, it's kind of incredible how many different things you and Ryan And others that are able to dabble in so many different things.

1:02:16 I don't know exactly how your brain works, but it's definitely is something. It's incredible that you guys can do that. How long did that take you to make yes let us know any further details about that one Diane about what the process was uh uh all of that you're so welcome idea that you've Had for before or had before or is it something that just kind of came on the fly like I like That blaxploitation two days when you get going you're like a train you know you just this is why You excel in these competitions with a short deadline clearly you just are so good straight

1:03:01 Ones straight ones from everybody you know we've got a lot of your fans here clearly the crossover Over is immense so yeah thank you so much for sending me that piece um you know can't wait to Have you on a future creator session probably you're going to be the fastest to get to another Creator session because of how prolific you are you know like yeah it's mental oh so this next One um I saw again remember last time we saw that curious refuge were doing a horror film Competition as well so uh this one was submitted to that and it's called cryogen compliance let's Check it out in 2039 every decision made by ai requires human approval this law guarantees

Cryogen Compliance, a Curious Refuge horror entry

1:03:52 That humans remain in control no exceptions Why do we continue maintaining the older models? Young brains are not sufficiently developed for certain decisions. Their learning speed is higher. When does judgment become useful? Usually when the unit has already begun to degrade.

1:04:39 Cognitive link stable. Return to your station. The current production cycle will not meet its target. Again? Why is this taking so long? Organic brains take years to train. Accelerated conditioning compromises judgment. Unacceptable. Director, animal trials are complete. Training is significantly faster. Decision validation? Impossible. Animals cannot assume responsibility. The law requires a human.

1:05:32 And the data centers? Capacity remains limited. Alligator brains outperform the elephant arrays. Half the energy consumption. Good. Replace the elephants.

1:06:43 Wow that music got intense towards the end there especially the headphones if you guys are listening In headphones blimey thought that was really cool though a lot more of those type of films like ai's Impact on the future I can see that very popular john the role so the uh voting is now open I Should have said that guys sorry um yeah get your votes in now especially for those on linkedin Where uh get you in as quickly as you can because we're going to be rapid firing again through these Next ones um someone said spookily john said scarily close to the truth as you're saying Andrew like you know potential black uh mirror episodes are coming up guys unfortunately and Um let's hope that we go down a brighter path than what's seeming to be happening but um

1:07:34 Kind of wild what's going on and these sort of like where we're going you know extrapolating 20 50 100 years in the future it's going to be really interesting storytelling Definitely definitely so the votes are all coming in get you keep very high Yeah exactly I think someone said right rightfully sort of the gossip goblin style there you know Like vibes uh definitely felt like his sort of mid-journey type style but again it was definitely A unique story so it wasn't too much on the nose of gossip goblin it's just similar sort of Alex I guess so the next one we're going to watch guys we're going to have to really strap in for I've realized that we've got um the bionic uh awards guys dropping in in 15 minutes so this

What's the Job? by Jacopo Zanetti

1:08:20 Is probably going to be one of the last pieces we watch because it's an epic strap in 10 minute Piece but as I said it's award-winning and uh Jacobo actually sent this to me in direct message Whilst we've been live as well as marco suggesting it so it's got to be brilliant because uh both of The he won an award for it and marco absolutely says that this is one is going to be straight Ones from you guys so let's see I haven't watched it either me and andrew are going to be watching It for the first time real reaction to this one let's check it out what's the job

1:09:07 Thank you. I really must offer you my congratulations. That's amazing. Thank you so much. But... What is the job, exactly? Well, it's a prestigious position, you know? Well, I can imagine. But, um, you see, I'd like to be prepared.

1:09:53 What exactly will I be doing? Everything this job requires. You know how it is, don't you? Honestly, not really. Come now. What are you still doing here? Tomorrow's a big day. Off you go. No time to waste. Time is money. Take your briefcase. Time is money! I'm so glad you finally found a job. Yes. I can hardly believe it. And yet it's true. From tomorrow, your wonderful new life begins.

1:10:43 What the fuck? Thank you. I'm sorry.

1:11:49 Excuse me. Yes, I'm telling you, it's standard procedure. Good morning. I'm new to this office. Could you tell me where I should go? Let me put you on hold a moment, sorry. Here. Your contract. Where should I go? Now, I can't tell you anything. You'd have to ask HR, who at this hour... Yes, at this hour, he should be on the second floor, the smoking room. Take the stairs at the back on the right. Okay, so this way?

1:12:35 Go on, go on, quick! This must be a joke.

1:13:23 Good morning. Do you know where I can find HR? Oh, my God.

1:14:09 Hello. You're the HR, right? How do they always find me? Sorry to bother you, but I'm new here and I'm trying to understand what my role is. Well, asking yourself that is already a fine place to start. I suppose so. Anyway, can you help me? I don't think I can. You can't? Let's say I'm on a spiritual retreat forever. You're retired? Something like that. Then why don't you go home? Haven't you noticed? No one leaves this place. What are you talking about?

1:14:56 I can leave whenever I want. I don't even know what I'm doing here. As you wish. No one here really cares anyway. You should go to the project manager. Maybe he knows something. Great. And how do I get there? Like this. You should file a complaint with HR. Are doors out of fashion? HR sent me. This is my contract. Can you tell me what I'm supposed to do? No, no, no. I want nothing to do with it.

1:15:41 HR has got it completely wrong. You need to go to the Department of Assignments, 6th floor. What a surprise. Is it true no one's ever left this place? And why would they? It's so comfortable here. I'm sorry, try asking the Head of Operations. Not my department. Go to the Office of Records. No. You need to be your supervisor of affairs. The CEO. I don't have time for this. But you don't understand. Everyone keeps bouncing me around for no reason. Once again, I don't care. Now go.

1:16:27 Okay. I think I'll just go. What are you doing? What are you doing? It's pointless. I fucking hate this place! Oh, my God.

1:17:34 I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

1:18:47 Wow I see why he was saying once everyone's putting one let's put the poll up first yes Sorry guys let's go with the poll get your comments in now get your votes in now I'll redo the ones that already came into the chat. Oh my God. Visually, man. Oh my God. What was the backstory of this again? So this was someone actually Marco found this piece as well as Jacobo actually sent it to me. I'm terrible at pronouncing names. I'm so sorry. Um but we've been watching uh his work has been award-winning it many times before but this piece Has just recently won uh the best visual at the AIFF I think um as Marco said uh rightfully earning

1:19:38 The best visual um 50k well deserved that is incredible storytelling man seriously like as As far as like 10 minute pieces of content go I think that's the best one I've seen all year Truthfully like it's amazing like strong visual storytelling great great characters great script Writing everything was great I think you said there there was some uh issues when exporting The sound and that was the only thing it was just a bit low overall in the volume but yeah just Adding a few more db and you've literally got like one of the best things I've seen in so long so That is incredible man I like what alex said feels like a glimpse of customer service in the future

1:20:24 Definitely oh gosh like I thought about so much during the whole film I was like oh my god it's Just like everybody's jobs everybody's lives but the color grading the the visual analogies it was Brilliant yeah when that woman says look I don't care you know I've been everywhere I don't care That literally is customer service how it feels that frustration oh yeah oh god like just that Tedium boredom and feeling like lost and but the the staircase you know the analogies there and The whole like can never escape type feeling as well ah brilliant absolutely brilliant I'm so glad That marco made me because I I'd seen that piece coming during the show and I was like if I tried To download that during the show we're gonna lag out so kindly marco downloaded it for me

1:21:15 I think the guy who made it is in the chat he is indeed yes I've been telling him um yeah that We're live so thank you so much for tuning in to see this live and getting all this feedback wow Yeah we'd love to call that how long did something like that take let us know yes please let us know And we would love to have you on for a creator session as well in the future to really break Down some of your pieces and tell us more in detail but if you can let us know in chat for now How long that piece took um yeah what inspired it clearly lots of types of films you know you can See that there's lots of inspiration and films there but specific films that you thought about There and stuff amazing yeah great job um the bite pit thanks so much for tuning in buddy

1:22:01 Framework, camera, absolutely outstanding. Yep. Absolutely outstanding. And Pia, Greatest comment here. Can you remember when we used to struggle with AI characters and six Fingers during that piece? I think that was the perfect comment to make it because it was just so Rich visually and everything. Look, the lighting especially, I think was my favorite element of the Whole thing. You know, just the overall lighting and color schemes. It felt like almost was Anderson but in the opposite you know the music yeah I was trying to figure out who is it that Kind of stylish but yeah wes anderson slightly soviet era surrealism you know stalker mixed With terry gillingham yeah I could totally yeah he said it took two months working and he's bald now Pulling his hair love it oh that's brilliant I hope not sir because you've got a lovely head

1:22:55 Of hair in your display picture there I hope you're not that's not true I hope this leads To bigger and better things though definitely yeah oh yeah I mean he's already you know winning Grand prizes at film festivals it's awesome honestly and I this is the type of thing where That is outstanding work that would rightfully be selected in a competition but then in an Algorithm how you know does it resonate we need a place for it which is why this show exists you Know it's like we showcase the stuff worth watching and that's not necessarily what algorithms are Going to showcase to you so yeah exactly exactly awesome well we're about three minutes away from Alex dropping into the studio so I'm wondering if we can watch another very short piece have

Why algorithms miss the work worth watching

1:23:40 Got the the 404 films jimmy's one oh yeah it'd be good to watch that one right um you know what I Need to still add that so what I'll do is I'll put up um another piece whilst I download jimmy's and Alex and uh everyone can have jimmy's because what alex is going to come on and showcase is Basically the three winning entries but they're only like one minute each uh so it's going to be Really rapid fire with that and he'll be able to watch some other stuff with us jimmy stuff included At the end um oh this one was really really fun and this is the this weird territory that I was Talking about earlier you know where breaking bad was obviously a cult classic you know like Probably arguably one of the greatest series ever made you know and um many still regard it to that

A Breaking Bad tribute: fan film or algorithm bait?

1:24:29 Day and I'm seeing lots of tributes made to it by people using animation styles and stuff and Times they're just algorithmic bait you know like it's just really because it's a big ip and it's Yada yada but this one was like oh god this is a this this guy really is a fan you know and They're very obviously a fan of animation style too so that's what they did is they kind of made An animated tribute using mid journey and uh uh cdaps 2.5 and it's by Igor Franzoy let's check it

1:25:18 Out. If anything happens to me, know that I love my family. I am not a criminal. Everything I did It was for them. What's he doing? Flash for his guy. All right so last uh voting on this particular part before we get alex drop into the studio

1:26:04 What do you guys think to that was that awesome okay not for me I'm just seeing this style now Pulled off so well by different people and I like it I really like it yeah I think for me that was Two overall I think it's because I know breaking back but I'm not a massive fan of when someone Takes something that's popular and tries to yeah yeah like do it in their type of versions almost Like a lot rather it was left um yeah but I appreciate what they've done and I like that Style I think if I didn't know breaking bad I would think that was really good but because I Know breaking bad and I know that actual bit when they went to the desert it was like uh okay I've Of scene is you've got to hold it to a really high standard for fans don't you and that's the thing With all these things like when we watched the uh what was it the world of warcraft and all these

1:26:54 Other sort of fan films I'm like I'm not into that world so I can appreciate it for what it is but if I am like breaking bad yeah harsh criticism from me yeah so I'd say probably a two as well and and It's it's that's what I mean about it bordering on the algorithmic slot side you know it's kind Of like just about there sometimes you get into the like oh that's a real fan and really good And other times it's like oh you did that for the literally for the gram you know for the whatever But yeah all right so I'm not seeing alex yet let me just shoot him a quick message See if everything's still coming on Otherwise uh yeah what did you guys think last linkedin votes uh get all of your stuff in

1:27:41 What a session already we've rattled through so much and so much yeah yeah there's so much that We haven't got through to yeah what I really like have you noticed nowadays like for the last few Months we've not really talked about consistency it's almost like a given now it's like all right Gonna look the same the bit that I still quite surprised with is voice I still think voices like Like no not great to be honest like even when I remember we had uh some I can't remember I think They were the german guys that came in the content creators uh sorry in the creator section and they Had to get voiceovers uh they had to get people to come and do the voices I still feel the voice is Not I don't know it's just not quite there yet you could it still feels ai-ish and I'm like I'm

Is consistency solved, and is voice the last hurdle?

1:28:30 Surprised it's taken that long considering what else is like they can do because it feels like Some of the things that you can do now with with like when it comes especially when it comes to The editing and how they've created the video that seems a lot harder they're getting the voice So yeah I'm surprised by that I I think you're absolutely right I think zach london gossip Didn't he he was like local voice actors where he can be in the booth with them even like getting Voice actors as you said doing it over the internet is not what he wanted so I think that's Going to be really really good for voice actors in the near future truth yeah yeah and I think I think even zach said like um if you use a c dance voice you're getting something that you

1:29:17 Can't protect and also an average of something and something that can be used by other people So it's like you really do need that unique voice, even if the character design is different and done AI. Like a human voice there is a definite advantage. I wonder if it's because of likeness. That too. Yeah. Where someone could turn around and say, that's my voice. Like if you make it like a very deep voice, like someone like James Earl Jones can then turn around. A state can turn around and say that sounds a bit too similar. Case that plays a part but then again because these companies are not really like oh let's Let's not do this because it might break some copyright laws yeah true so yeah the smashing

1:30:04 Grab sort of attitude but yeah they might regret that in the future you know I think some of them Have to be a bit wary especially with very famous voices because uh yeah but just the averageness Of it if you think about it like truthfully if you get a voice like however good it is the fact Be got by someone else so yeah kind of mad to think about that But yeah I think people will be taking as we've said in previous weeks audio a lot more seriously Because visually as you said I think everyone's at a level now where we can pull off things Visually consistently but the audio is going to be the new standout like what's going to make your Stuff shine and the editing and the pacing and using the extra tools like claude and things to

1:30:52 Extra frames like we showed at the top of the show you know in painted effects all of those Extra bits that others don't think to do but you even we've even said that if you look at even the Shows certain things that we talk about there's always like almost trends and at the moment it's Kind of like the sound trend is coming we mentioned sound way more now than we were make we were Talking about this time last year so it is there's all there's and I think it's because this time Last year there were bigger things bigger fish to fry and now we're kind of yeah and now it's like The sound we're kind of here um and then after that it's just going to be little little tweaks Here and there yeah I think that's right and I think c dance 2.5 visually sorted out a lot of The like continuity especially for live action type stuff where people want to look photo realistic

1:31:40 You know that suddenly looks way more realistic now and only see you know see dance 3 will no I'm really interested though in the in the new um the by audio stuff because by dance are doing so Many things now you know they do the best image model at the moment as well with seedream or many People think it is still one of the best image models but yeah their audio stuff is really Interesting too oh I just seen Alex drop into the green room so that's a nice sign hey let's go Straight onto the stage mate put you in the middle as well let's swap you how are you doing I'm good Thanks good to see you yeah good to see you back on the show um that's my home from home yeah there

Alex from Bionic Awards on the Gen4 Challenge

1:32:25 You go straight in with the audio as well which is always good I can hear you fine you hear us Fine obviously yeah all good brilliant brilliant well thank you so much for having me down in London again I was telling everybody uh how much of an awesome experience that imax was it was truly Epic that's the word for it everything was epic the uh I didn't even tell you this andrew but They had the formula e car in the actual imax and uh you know they were bragging about the stats About how it was so much faster than formula one or 30 faster than formula one and stuff it's like Crazy yeah it's mental that's crazy one cars are not exactly slow uh yeah they're literally some The fastest cars available so this thing being sent faster is a bit terrifying truthfully but uh

1:33:16 Pretty cool stuff wasn't it alex yeah yeah absolutely I mean the thing about electric Cars is just it's all talk so there's you know it's just they're just so just just insanely Fast acceleration yeah it's just yeah it's incredible kind of crazy time about tesla Roadster and stuff wasn't it like we're seeing flying cars and then we're seeing electric like Formula e cars um but yeah the whole experience was epic and uh we were sitting in the cinema Um seeing the winners and I loved the helmet by the way uh you know nora showed her award Like this colorful formula e helmet it looks so cool one of the best looking awards visually I've seen as well I know it's a shame that they didn't parade those around a bit more because I Think that you know they told us that they were going to do that but um we didn't you know that

1:34:05 Yeah I don't think the creators realized how cool they were because they kind of gave them to them Wrapped up didn't they yeah right I only saw it on social media afterwards honestly I didn't even See it in person I'd love to have actually like touched it and stuff because it looks so cool But yes massive congrats to the winners and tell us more about the categories that you did for this One because there were three distinct categories weren't there there was the individual the agency But yes you tell us more yeah so I mean as you know Bionic is all about giving creators career Opportunities and so we just felt that it wouldn't necessarily be fair to sort of pit the sort of Independent creators directly up against sort of big agencies or you know so we wanted to sort of Create that little bit of separation to have sort of two opportunities so we had you know some

1:34:53 Independent creators and agencies agencies being defined as anybody who would enter as a business So it could be you know small business massive agency etc and then there was a third category Google flow so the obviously it was in partnership with Google so people had to use Google models in Order to be able to enter but they didn't necessarily have to use the sort of flow platform So they could use models in any other platform but the flow award was specifically for people who Wanted to use that as as well and people could actually enter that plus one of the other two Categories if they wanted to yeah for Andrew that's like their platform yeah you know flow Flow is like Google's platform to use Google tools and stuff. But obviously, Bo 3.1 and other Google tools like Google Omnia are available

1:35:39 And other aggregators, essentially. So it was like, did you make it in flow or did you use it elsewhere? Google that they were the sort of rules. And yeah, the solo category winner, Nora, really stood out to me. This piece, I really liked it visually. I thought it was so interesting with the sort of animals and everything else like Us more about this piece yeah I love this one as well as well actually this I'm so glad it won Because this was actually my favorite although I shouldn't really say that but uh I don't I don't Get a vote so uh but I did as soon as I saw how did you not you didn't you didn't judge yourself As well oh okay me and andy didn't judge so uh full hand over the the um but I I really loved

Nora Bereczki, solo category winner

1:36:25 This one because I think that they took the sort of um the idea of the evolution of the car and Life with by bringing in um show bringing different sort of animal ideas it was an idea That a constantly the idea of evolution and bringing animals into show development policy Something that we saw a lot of people doing in the competition but all those has the sheet I Think she executed it best both visually and in terms of storytelling even though it's only 60 Seconds and so for a for a brand film it really does more than just put together a string of nice Looking shots it really tells you a lot about what the the the um the development of some of The ideas that go into making the car and it's slick as hell so it's just a it's just a beautiful

1:37:11 Thing with some actually good good storytelling built into it as a brand film yeah this looks so Cool on the imax screen this one specifically because it's so fast-paced and edited visually And it's got big striking letters that come up again just for those that are unaware of what the The competition was essentially you needed to include this car for at least five seconds was It or um what was the exact requirements there yeah so really we deliberately kept the brief Quite open so you didn't have to make a brand film which is kind of what this is you only had To have the car for four seconds on screen so some people told like you know pretty pretty uh Pretty random stories and just sort of had that sort of shot at the end but this one is is what You might consider to be in some ways a traditional brand film but in terms of the structure of it Said she really explodes it out with some incredible visuals but it's all sort of very

1:38:00 Coherent in terms of the visual storytelling yeah exactly I thought I'd just explain that because When we watch the ladybird one you'll see a very different interpretation of the brief much like The love letters to cinema that we watched earlier andrew you know it was it had specific requirements I done in the day and stuff but open enough brief that you could get complete reinterpretations of That meant essentially and this one um I'm really bad at pronouncing surnames is it berazic I was worried you were going to ask me this Apologies nor if you're watching uh I'm terrible I'm famous for being terrible at pronouncing any Names on on the show so let's check it out though anyway this one was awesome

1:39:05 So Wow yeah very good I tell you what that um when I was in the imax my my seat was shaking andrew

1:39:56 Because the sound system in there is so bloody good that the actual vibrations of that beat were Like shaking the seat so it was like visually amazing on screen but you were literally moving In your seat a little bit because of how loud it was awesome but the upscale was crazy oh yeah well Alex um yes alex uh team who did you get to do the upscaling again so we got it done at pinewood Studio so um all the bionic events we get the the upscaling handled by uh by pinewood and um they Kind of you know took a little break from um production of the rings of power to uh to work With your stuff amazing yeah just to sort the sort uh yeah to sort the dcp out for this and yeah you

1:40:42 Can see it just makes you know a massive difference when you see it on that on that Oh yeah on the huge imax screen it's incredible and alex sent me the whole you know two gigabyte Files for that like one minute thing earlier and I was like on the show this is going to collapse The stream so we had to watch uh the normal resolution of things there but on the cinema I am at school trust me it was it was fully you know taking up the full width great music as afro Said I think that really got me in you know this beat I love the bat you know when the bat swoops Down and just transforms into the aerodynamics of the car and uh this and the hummingbird and All the different animals as you said a bit more traditional there though alex you know like In a good way like and it nailed this sort of traditional mess of this type of brand thing

1:41:30 Yeah yeah absolutely my favorite bit is I think is it as an axotal when it regenerates its hand Um yeah you know whether it just like briefly pauses for emphasis when that comes on it's just Really really clever and because obviously regenerative power was a big part of the gen Four car which is like you know because it kind of uh you know it's electric car eases regenerative Braking so it's a big part of the brand story so it was really clever that she kind of you know Incorporated that into it and you know as I said it's just like you know in clever storytelling But beautifully executed and I agree the music is really sick as well yeah really really cool choice Of music there um oh another thing I wanted to say is it was really cool to see the print out of the Posters all around the venue and I saw martin and others when he got photo next to their poster

1:42:17 Which was really cool I think this really lent itself to poster design didn't it so uh the Posters if you guys didn't see were posted on the ai live show linkedin page uh so go check out those Posters as well because they were they they themselves maybe need an entry award category For next year alex just a poster design like best best poster design well you know uh well of course So first thing to say is actually next year's barn it will have a stills category um oh yes Another time that's exciting the zed anwar is gonna enter that and let a lot of others You know do print campaigns and they're very very interesting stills that resonate still and linkedin They're one of the formats that does well on our page you know other than video okay interesting

1:43:06 I mean yeah we when we were planning this event we said to google look you know wouldn't it be Great if we sort of encourage the the finalists the nine finalists not just to supply uh their Film but to get them to make a proper film poster and sort of get them printed up big in the foyer And just make the creators feel like it was a special event to celebrate their talent their Work and brilliant suggestions you know google because they've got so many tools that's exactly The type of thing they should think of is like wider integrations and stuff because they've got Great image models great other posters tools things yeah so yeah tell us about this next one Uh special laurent marcus nathaniel kiwi stowaway I've got as my thumbnail so this is the agency

Special Group, agency category winner

1:43:53 Winner and it's actually made by um special group who are one of a really big agency uh predominantly Based in australia uh they do they're one of australia's biggest creative agencies uh but They do also some of the people from the london office came to the to the finals to represent Them so they are international so you know I think what really stood out for me in this century was Just is the storytelling so they just took a completely different approach it couldn't be More different from from what nora did uh I don't want to say too much because it'll spoil the the Surprise for you but um I think it's really really clever the way that they've kind of thought about It and even though that it's only 60 seconds it packs a whole narrative into it and it's it's Just a really really beautifully told story all right let's check it out

1:45:42 Yeah that was great brilliant I had the audible gasps in the cinema actually happened at the end There as well get your votes in for that one guys uh what did you think one awesome two okay three Not for me Kareem my boy what's up thanks for tuning in was it one's coming in two people As well on that last oh did it say uh yeah yeah so there were two I think two people predominantly Made it but I don't I don't know how many people especially were involved in the sort of you know The background of the in terms of developing the idea so that's a very big agency but those two of Them are credited as having predominantly work sure yeah that was so fun the sound effects again

1:46:29 With all the cars they're so loud in the cinema it was really in your face yeah it was a brilliant One and and just to have that like snap conclusion like that where it's just eaten unexpectedly it's Just like yeah and the drums it just sort of concludes and you're like oh god that's brilliant Yeah yeah so I mean the storytelling is is great but I also really like the physics of it as well Like you really feel the ladybird clinging on and yeah totally in its wings and it's it's really Just you know it's just so uh elegantly put together in terms of the the the the the um The reality of it you feel I think the key thing is you feel the speed of the car as well yes and

1:47:15 That's what they wanted to get across you know but it's done it in a very clever way which is like you It introduces you to it in a way that you're not expecting so I really I I think that's a really Inspired piece of um storytelling but also a really really clever use of the of the of the Physics in terms of where they put it together very very also as I talked to you on the phone Before you know the shortcomings of the google model is like medium close shots and stuff that Really felt the the the energy as I said like some of the entries I watched it didn't feel like the Car was going the speed it should be but that one really did you know the you you were totally in And it was clever pacing good shot medium shots and other like you know creative choices there

1:48:01 That really got that one through for me as well so very smart by those guys uh you can tell that They're a known agency let's rep down under I've got to get some more of those guys shame on the Time difference you know getting them on the shows yeah every time it's midday for us it's Midnight for them so I'm like how do we work this because if it's 4 p.m for you it's gonna be 4 a.m Or whatever you know we just gotta try and get it so that it can work somehow yeah love it love it So how long did they get to work on these was it like they were given like a short period of time Yeah that's a good question yes so we there was a thing the competition was open for about Sort of three weeks three four weeks and obviously you know um depending on sort of uh when the

1:48:51 People heard about it you know it affected how much time they had to work on it we would have Liked to have had the the entry window open for longer um but um you know because they had kind Of already uh confirmed the date for the imax it was just like totally set in stone really in terms To judges to have enough time to look at the entries as well and to sort of, you know, all that stuff. And also the back-end processing and the DCP conversion. All of that stuff takes longer than you think. So, you know, when you, you never, you know, I think people just kind of don't really understand the full, All the paddling that goes underwater when it comes to this one elegantly moving across it when it comes to an awards. You need someone very calm, like yourself, in control of that process.

1:49:36 As we've learned you know from others doing it well I mean I wouldn't sound necessarily a sort Of you know uh the calmest but I try to maintain that veneer at least in public yeah yeah yeah Honestly no it was so smooth the whole event and interrupting the odyssey as well you know like It's like one of those things where it's like whoa it was also so cool because I actually tried to Buy tickets to the odyssey which I think is sold out through january or something like that You know like that is so it was like oh we could watch this in the same place right after which I Did oh that's how much the whole of the odyssey straight after the awards which was crazy uh Timing that you can interlude like that with you know that cinema that film just amazing yeah

1:50:23 Absolutely and the fact the fact that you know you go from sort of something that's been made With ai something that was shot on like you know uh 70 mil imax film analog film exactly it's just But I think before we watch the last one tell us the prize as well because it was They get to go to like anywhere to watch a formula race don't they and some were thinking about tokyo And stuff yeah yeah so uh so obviously it was exciting enough for sort of all nine of the Finalists to be invited to come to the imax and people some of these guys I mean someone came from Brazil someone came from america that was awesome uh obviously nora she came over from from hungary So um it was it was incredible to see so many of the finalists at the event but the three winners Get uh two um vip tickets to a formula e uh race anywhere in the world so they could go to miami

1:51:13 Uh brazil tokyo and also that includes like four thousand dollars uh worth of travel expenses being Covered as well for two people so you know they were there was there was I don't think uh nora Actually even realized that fully until she got there she's like wow oh yeah I'll just I think I said to her don't lose your travel vouchers and she's like my what She just was a combination of cool stuff yeah let alone the trip around the world pretty much Oh that's funny yeah what combination of cool things like the imax nobody's sort of been done In the AI sort of world before that.

1:51:59 So that particular IMAX as well was really, really cool. The coolest sort of award like helmet that I've seen physically like an award thing, But then a trip around the world and recognition from Google. It was a lot of really cool things that you'd bundled together for this. I told you earlier, I was like, wow, that's actually I've never heard of that. You know, that's one of the things that was just like stand out about it. And the most important thing for me as well for Bionic is that hopefully the creators And even special as an agency we'll get more work out of this as well because like I said we do this To kind of to to spotlight talent and to help them to further their careers so yes it's great that They'll get these prizes but hopefully that they will go on to achieve great great things and I'm Sure all all three of them will we should uh we haven't seen the third one I'm talking about yes I I was gonna say let's watch the third one and uh anybody that wants as alex has said to do a

1:52:47 Follow up with any of these uh sign up via luma.com forward slash the ai live show and all of the Links to everything we watched today including that awesome film that we saw straight ones uh From jacobo will all be in that newsletter with links to where you can go and find these people's Work book them and other things like this so tell me this one was by salma tell me about this one So this is the uh this is the flow category so this is uh so she she's done this entirely in flow To the style of a brand film based around what Nora did, But rather than talking about the evolution as a whole Of the different technologies in the new gen four car, She's honed in on the sort of the straight line Acceleration, which is like,

Salma El Makhloufy, Flow category winner

1:53:33 I think it's like 0 to 100 kilometers a second In 1.8 seconds. So she's kind of focused, someone's focused on that. And, you know, what I like, really enjoy about this Bring in terms of the tension and I don't want to say too much we've seen it but it has you know You'll see what you'll understand what I mean once you've seen the film and I think it's a really Beautiful uh piece of dynamic storytelling as well but you know you be the judge of that And then we can uh we can chat more once you've seen it yeah I really love the poster for this One too but let's check it out

1:55:06 Lovely build up and pay off there with the getting excited towards the end what would You think to that one andrew yeah great use of sound I like the bit when it just went black and Out the car and then it kind of came almost like a different style after that yeah it was really Good I like that one I think yeah get your votes in guys out of three I thought as you said um the First number one and number three felt like spec ads like they really felt like good adverts that Google could take and either showcase the flow or the e the e-card formula e could take that and say Look this is what we're about that could easily fit anywhere yeah short brand films totally if If you turn around to me and said ogilvy created that I wouldn't I wouldn't be thinking nah I'll

1:55:53 Be thinking okay it looked on that standard and I think the other one um the second one I think you Could put that anywhere because it was just a great it was just a great piece of content It's fascinating yeah that's I think you're right andrew it almost you forget that it is almost a Like a branded thing because it's so subtle in the storytelling you know it's sort of I agree with you Sorry Chris I love the use of dark there you know where the lights come on in the start as well Giving that like intense race feeling and you know building up that whole like payoff as well in the Energy again totally different entries all three like really really different and this is a testament To you having a loose enough brief to allow that so I think that's why you got such diverse entries Yeah, we really wanted to sort of give people that creative.

1:56:41 And to be fair, Google were clear. They were quite open to that idea as well. Because I think that we all understood that if we've got, like, all of the films had been the same, It just wouldn't have had the event as a whole. Wouldn't have had. No one would have really wanted to see nine films that were all very similar. And in fact, I would encourage anybody who's interested in the competition to see the, you know, I want to firstly pay tribute to the quality of all nine of the finalists. They're all incredible films. They're all very different. And um you can see all of them at the bionic awards uh website so we've posted them all there So um bionic awards.com and there's a page for gen 4 challenge and you can see all not I really do Encourage everybody to go and look at all nine of them because they're all well worth a watch In their own way just very very different styles very different types of approaches but just

1:57:26 Inc you know really really talented creators and I really want to thank not only them but all of The finalists oh sorry all of the people who entered and you know we know how long it takes Team and we had we had um you know well over 100 entries and you know which is I think a pretty Good number given that it was only open for three weeks and uh you know I want to just you know pay Tribute to the to the time all of the creators put into this absolutely I loved martin's and others As well as you said other finalists even the ones that didn't make the finalists you know well worth It I thought the payoff was brilliant for one minute thing all those unique things in a row I Competition of the year in terms of like uniqueness of prize versus entry requirements but also like

1:58:13 They pulled it off they really pulled it off you know each one I initially thought oh google flow Might be quite difficult for certain people but no they really use the platform strengths to make Something really what work at the imax so testament to those guys really really great work there Thanks so much again for jumping in Alex. Appreciate it. Thanks Alex. One second Alex. Chris, I can't log into the chat. So can you put the website so everyone can go and check? Oh yes. Bionic Awards. Yes. The nine of them. Yeah. The Bionic Awards. Sorry Alex. Let me. No, no. I was just going to say, you know, We want to do more of these kind of micro challenges with other brands. I think we think it's a really good opportunity for the creators And either as a standalone thing like this,

Bionic Season 2 and what's coming next week

1:59:01 But also, you know, as part of Bionic Season 2, Which we'll be announcing very shortly, It's going to be launching. We have more categories this year. 2:03:04 Approaches but he's got a he's got a real distinctive voice which is really impressive To see yeah it's so awesome isn't it yeah ah I gotta go gotta get those guys on for another Creative session um I think as you guys said earlier we need to get ink on for another creative Session and let us know who else in the comments and on the newsletter and everything when it Reaches you should deserve their own creator session jboog is another one who we didn't get Around to showing his piece today but was suggested by marco and others we're gonna try jimmy's today So jimmy we're so sorry yes we've clipped it up now so uh thank you so much for submitting that in We've got it lined up for the start of next session other things we didn't get around to Today like that kung fu one there's another one mate just the name of this one it's called
