The short version

Episode 119 had Chris Branch back from Cannes and Lisbon, Andrew Davis alongside him, and one of the biggest submission weeks in the show's history, with around 60% of the pieces sent in by viewers. The headline was Marco Magario's HOLY GRAiL, a 30-minute Renaissance comedy he made alone in 10 days, which The Dor Brothers watched at Cannes before hiring him on the spot. It topped the vote with 14 straight 1s, one of seven pieces to draw nothing but 1s. Runway's Big Pitch Contest brought TV pitches from Gabe Michael, László Gaál and Caique Silverio, Marcus Grip turned his dad's late cat into a war film, and ElevenLabs launched Eleven Music.

The scoreboard

Score out of 100: a 1 counts fully, a 2 counts half, a 3 counts zero. Votes are counted the way StreamYard's live poll counts them: every 1, 2 or 3 mentioned in a YouTube live chat message while that piece was on screen, one vote per person per poll (their first). LinkedIn Live comments are still to be added.

Key takeaways

  1. 01

One person can now make a 30-minute film. Marco Magario wrote, directed, scored and edited HOLY GRAiL alone in 10 days, all in Seedance 2.0 via Dreamina for about 300,000 credits (roughly €2,000), with every track made in Suno, and The Dor Brothers hired him on the spot at Cannes.

  2. 02

Original premises win TV pitches. In Runway's Big Pitch Contest, FLINT's polished but familiar post-apocalypse drew mostly 2s, while László Gaál's Black Mirror-style Jumpstart and Caique Silverio's O Amor Resiste pulled 1s for ideas the hosts hadn't seen before.

  3. 03

Consistency is now expected, so storytelling is the differentiator. Andrew noted the show no longer talks about consistent faces because every piece has them, and Chris called this year's storytelling potential the biggest the AI video space has seen.

  4. 04

Judge an ad by its audience. The Saffron Home ad scored lowest of the night with AI filmmakers, but the real question, as the chat pointed out, is whether it works for the Indian audience it was made for.

  5. 05

Creator programmes make experimentation affordable. Gabe Michael made SPACE TRASH with about 200,000 credits through Dreamina's creator programme, and Chris's advice was to apply to the programme of every tool you use, so re-rolls stop eating the budget.

  6. 06

AI film is becoming personal. Marcus Grip turned his dad's late cat into a war film and cast himself in the lead, and Andrew expects many more creators to put themselves and their friends in their own films.

Eleven Music launch

By ElevenLabs

The big news of the week: ElevenLabs launched Eleven Music, a platform to discover artists, remix tracks, shift genres, change the tempo or build a song from scratch, with over 4,000 creators already on board and a remix competition with cash prizes to mark the launch. The hosts called it a natural next step for the company the chat crowned the king of AI audio: think Spotify, but you can remix anything you find. If it exports stems, it could sit alongside other music models in a producer's workflow.

Dor Brothers Show Reel

By The Dor Brothers

Chris had just spent a few extra days with The Dor Brothers in Lisbon after Cannes, making music and talking AI, and couldn't believe he'd missed this showreel, posted only on X and Instagram. It looks back at a year that took them from political satire to work with Logan Paul and big celebrities, plus showreels commissioned by AI companies, and it teases unreleased projects, including a claymation piece Chris saw in development that is already 13 minutes long. As a showreel, it wasn't put to the vote.

Pawn Star Wars

By NeuralDerp

A May the 4th special, moved up from its usual show-closer slot. NeuralDerp mashes up Pawn Stars and Star Wars: General Grievous tries to pawn his lightsaber collection, from an estate sale, naturally, to pay for a lung condition the Separatist health plan won't cover, and Obi-Wan is called in as the expert. The chat wanted to know if it was fully AI and which tools made it; Chris's guess was a mix of platforms, in a format already made viral by a Frodo ring sale. One viewer raised copyright. Straight 1s.

“The name, Pawn Star Wars, it was just genius.”Chris Branch · ▶ 28:39

FLINT (Runway Big Pitch Contest)

By Gabe Michael

Gabe Michael's one-minute entry to Runway's Big Pitch Contest, where creators pitch a TV show rather than make an ad. A collapsed world, a future stolen by the people meant to protect it, and a wanted rebel called Flint. The art direction, continuity and audio all worked, but Andrew felt a contest like this calls for something we haven't seen before, and this had strong Last of Us energy. Dan in the chat said it lacked story, and the vote landed mostly on 2s. Gabe, watching live, had a second piece later in the show.

“If you're going to enter a competition like that, your imagination can run wild. It's almost got to be something that we've not seen before.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 32:33

Jumpstart (Runway Big Pitch Contest)

By László Gaál

László Gaál, who won Runway's earlier ad contest and started the fake behind-the-scenes trend with his Porsche ad, entered the Big Pitch Contest with this. In the future, your life is season one: a platform generates episodes from small real moments, called jumpstarts, until Jason discovers it never stops recording, not even his dreams. Black Mirror vibes, an original premise and a soundtrack that tied it all together. The one nitpick on the panel: the trailer gives away a lot. Mostly 1s, with two 3s from viewers unsure what the series would be.

“That is, for me, an example of using AI, a story that's not been told before, that is really, really good.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 40:22

O Amor Resiste (Runway Big Pitch Contest)

By Caique Silverio

Love Resists: Caique Silverio's Big Pitch entry, a Brazilian drama set in Rio de Janeiro about Marcos, a gay teenager navigating love, loss and identity in a world that keeps telling him he shouldn't exist. Kept in Portuguese with English captions and shot in a cinematic aspect ratio, it transported Chris to Rio, and the chat called it City of God meets AI. Andrew saw a film rather than a series, the kind that does well at Cannes, and Marco Magario called it very well crafted. Ten straight 1s.

“I don't see this as a TV series, I see this more like a film. That's the type of film that would do well in Cannes.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 50:03

Saffron Home Ad

By Chntan N. Shah, Woohoo Media

A real, commissioned ad for Saffron Home's premium cashews and almonds, from Indian producer Chntan N. Shah and Woohoo Media: 78 seconds, 11 characters, zero location scouts, zero weather delays, zero crew coordination, and two weeks from concept to final cut. Chris liked the robot-arm, slow-motion spectacle but found no real storyline and too many obviously AI moments. Andrew's test was to imagine it wasn't AI at all, and the chat reminded everyone it was made for India, not for AI filmmakers. It scored lowest of the night.

“I was thinking, all right, imagine if this wasn't AI and I was just watching this advert. What would I think? Because I think that's where we're going to get to very soon.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 56:47

The Kraken Expedition (Kraken Rum Spec Ad)

By ZeroAI Studio

A cinematic short film and spec ad from ZeroAI Studio, played as a game: guess the brand before the reveal. A crew sets sail with a little monster for luck, and the VFX do the rest. Mary named Kraken Rum almost immediately, well ahead of guesses ranging from Parker Pens and Davy Jones underwear to nasal spray. Andrew thought it was really good but a tad long, viewers praised the VFX and colour grade, and it reminded Chris of Uncanny Harry's H.P. Lovecraft film. Six votes, all 1s.

“I like that one, I thought that was really good. It was just a tad bit long.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 1:02:43

HOLY GRAiL

By Marco Magario

The film behind the episode title. Marco Magario, a passionate Italian director with four daughters, wrote, directed, scored and edited this 30-minute comedy set in Renaissance Florence in 1503, alone, in 10 days. The Dor Brothers watched it with Chris at Cannes and hired him on the spot. We showed five minutes. Marco told the chat it was all Seedance 2.0 via Dreamina, about 300,000 credits or roughly €2,000 with a lot of re-rolls, and every track was made in Suno. Fourteen straight 1s, the most votes of the night.

The Three Pigs (Movie Preview)

By Afro Futcha

A work-in-progress preview of a planned full film from Afro Futcha, a good friend of the show who was at a London event during the stream. A hungry wolf stalks three isolated pig sisters, only to discover that each house hides a different kind of killer, and by dawn he's the one begging to be let in. Chris loved the colour grading, the tonality and a score that fitted perfectly, and the chat noticed each pig had its own distinct face. The hosts reckoned it would have made a great Runway TV pitch. Twelve straight 1s.

ONE THOUSAND (A Short Film)

By Justin Hounkpatin

Justin Hounkpatin's nine-minute short, of which we watched five: on the edge of a New York skyscraper, a seasoned crisis negotiator faces his hardest rescue yet, and a reckoning with his own past. Chris read out Kling, MiniMax, Runway, Sora and Veo 3.1 as the tools, and the YouTube title adds Seedance 2.0. He'd have re-rolled a few physics slips, and Andrew wanted a backstory where the loss was the negotiator's own fault, but the colour grading, music and editing carried it. Twelve 1s and a single 2.

“I thought the overall colour grading, the music, the pacing, the editing was really, really good. But just this re-rolling of physics continuity problem would have really given it that sparkle.”Chris Branch · ▶ 1:28:29

Operation Sixten

By Marcus Grip

Marcus Grip, who now hosts Wonder Studios' live streams, made this after his dad's much-loved cat, Sixten, passed away. The result is a trench war film in which Sixten is the secret weapon on one last mission, with Marcus himself in the lead role, nose ring and all. Chris loved that a family loss can become a war movie and a shared memory, and the chat saw 1917 vibes. Andrew predicts plenty more creators casting themselves. Mostly 1s, with three 2s and a 3.

“Imagine a sad passing away of a cat in your family that was much beloved, and you can go and make it a war movie now.”Chris Branch · ▶ 1:35:17

Lucky Charms

By Jon Boden, Bizarre Bunny Studios

Lucky Charms is 60 years old and General Mills has never turned it into a show, so Jon Boden of Bizarre Bunny Studios made the trailer himself, reimagining the world as a dark, gritty period piece set in Belfast, where you never catch a leprechaun, you survive one. Jon, a comedy writer and musician and a friend of the show, was in the chat. The hosts called it a proper show trailer, the chat saw Peaky Blinders and Sherlock Holmes, and one viewer wanted to watch it as a series. Ten 1s and one 3.

“Remember the old stories, the B-roll, the album fillers that never got the music video, go do that stuff.”Chris Branch · ▶ 1:41:25

Escape From Berlin (Final Trailer)

By Rogue Cell Pictures

The four-and-a-half-minute final trailer for a feature from Rogue Cell Pictures, based on an award-winning Writers Guild of America script: post-World War III Berlin, neural IDs, weaponised AGI and a mission into a European mainframe. Chris was impressed by the epic fight scenes but found plenty of film cliches, as Dan said in the chat, with the action left too late. Andrew rated the voice casting and thought only the lead looked AI. The most evenly split vote of the night: five 1s, four 2s and three 3s.

“This one they got it spot on. The only person that looked AI was the main character. Everyone else looked really good.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 1:48:10

SPACE TRASH, Episode 1 (Short Film)

By Gabe Michael

Gabe Michael's second piece of the night, the first episode of a sci-fi series: a wisecracking robot explorer, CP, finds life on the moon, and the tardigrades getting rowdy on leaked life support are only the start. Gabe told the chat it was made with Seedance 2.0 via Dreamina, using about 200,000 credits through Dreamina's creator programme. Chris was drawn in straight away by the likeable characters, Andrew said it was unlike anything he'd seen, and Paul was reminded of Oblivion. Nine straight 1s.

MASK ON (Music Video)

By Dave Clark

A music video for AFRAID2SL33P, Dave Clark's music project, directed by Dave, a week after the film he made with his son. A trap beat, a haunted main character and Dave's trademark style. Chris was bobbing his head throughout and guessed the track may have been made in Suno, though that wasn't confirmed. Andrew argued AI gets away with more in music videos than in short films, but it still needs a good song, and this had one. The chat heard Bieber in it. Ten straight 1s.

“When it comes to AI, you can get away with a lot more in music videos than, say, short films.”Andrew Davis · ▶ 2:00:21

ALVAR: The Unseen

By LoA

Chris stayed on after Andrew and Paul left to show two extra pieces, starting with this one from LoA, a hugely talented creator Chris found in the wild, not yet widely followed on LinkedIn. A boy, a stylised wolf and a world that feels ancient and new at once, cut down from nine minutes to five. Chris was blown away by the world building and the storyline, and by how individuals are building worlds we'll soon be able to step into. Glenn called it stunning and original, and Mary saw World of Warcraft and Ice Age. Nine 1s and a 2.

“The strength of individuals to build worlds that we're going to be able to enter into later on this year with the world models and stuff is kind of incredible.”Chris Branch · ▶ 2:10:41

Breaking Bad by Balenciaga

By demonflyingfox

The show closer, from demonflyingfox, a regular on the show for his redneck music videos: Breaking Bad remade as if Balenciaga made it. Walter White and Jesse cook Balenciaga in an RV in the desert, Tuco wants his dress tighter, and Saul Goodman offers to set up a meeting with Gustavo Fring. We watched five of its eight and a half minutes. The chat flagged the pacing and lip sync, and saw Zoolander in it, but as one viewer put it, it's just for the lols. Three 1s and four 2s.

“When world models truly come out, we're going to start seeing people mix together all sorts of pop culture stuff into new worlds that we enter.”Chris Branch · ▶ 2:18:58

Questions this episode answers

What was AI LIVE Episode 119 about?

Episode 119 (5 May 2026) was one of AI LIVE's biggest weeks for viewer submissions. Chris Branch and Andrew Davis reviewed 18 pieces live, including Marco Magario's 30-minute AI film HOLY GRAiL, Runway Big Pitch Contest entries from Gabe Michael, László Gaál and Caique Silverio, and ElevenLabs' new Eleven Music platform. HOLY GRAiL topped the audience vote with 14 straight 1s.

How was HOLY GRAiL made, and what did it cost?

Marco Magario wrote, directed, scored and edited the 30-minute Renaissance comedy on his own in 10 days, working around 16 hours a day. He told the live chat it was all made with Seedance 2.0 via Dreamina, using about 300,000 credits, roughly €2,000, with a lot of re-rolls, and that every music track was made in Suno. The Dor Brothers hired him after watching it at Cannes.

What is Runway's Big Pitch Contest?

It's a Runway competition where creators pitch a TV show rather than make an ad: a teaser or trailer that sells the series. On AI LIVE the hosts judged entries on whether you buy into the world and would actually watch the show. Episode 119 featured FLINT by Gabe Michael, Jumpstart by László Gaál and O Amor Resiste by Caique Silverio.

Which piece won the audience vote on AI LIVE Episode 119?

HOLY GRAiL by Marco Magario topped the vote with 14 straight 1s. Six more pieces also drew nothing but 1s: The Three Pigs by Afro Futcha, O Amor Resiste by Caique Silverio, MASK ON by Dave Clark, Pawn Star Wars by NeuralDerp, SPACE TRASH by Gabe Michael and ZeroAI Studio's Kraken Rum spec ad.

How can AI creators get free credits for video tools?

Chris's advice was to apply to the creator partner programme (CPP) of every tool you use, and keep applying until you're accepted. Dreamina and CapCut are actively signing creators up, telling them what you plan to make helps, and the credits mean re-rolls stop being a cost to the budget. Gabe Michael made SPACE TRASH with about 200,000 Dreamina credits through its programme.

How can I get my AI work featured on AI LIVE?

Submit it through the form at theailiveshow.com. Every Tuesday at 4pm UK the hosts review the best submissions live on LinkedIn and YouTube, and every piece goes to a live audience vote: 1 for awesome, 2 for okay, 3 for not for me.

Show notes

Chris Branch was back from Cannes and a few extra days with The Dor Brothers in Lisbon, Andrew Davis was back from Cardiff, and Paul Parsons produced with new music beds under the show. Around 60% of this week's pieces came from viewers, one of the biggest submission weeks the show has had.

In the news, ElevenLabs launched Eleven Music, a remixable music platform, and the hosts argued that DeepSeek V4's real story is price: near-frontier intelligence at a small fraction of the cost of the big labs, and a future where most everyday tasks run on a model on your phone.

The films section ran from three Runway Big Pitch Contest entries to HOLY GRAiL, Operation Sixten and Escape From Berlin. Andrew and Paul had to leave after Dave Clark's MASK ON, Andrew for his football club's Champions League semi-final, so Chris carried on solo for ALVAR by LoA and closed the night with Breaking Bad by Balenciaga.
