Some things are better in person

Lisbon Loras was founded in Lisbon by the AI filmmaker Filipa Kinomoto as a place for artists, filmmakers and creative people working with AI to meet, share what they were making and learn from each other^[1]. Its stated goal is to connect artists with the tools shaping creative work, give visibility to creators who deserve a bigger platform, learn from each other, and have a lot of fun along the way^[1]. On LinkedIn it describes itself as a non-profit, in-person community based in Lisbon and open to Europe^[4].

RnA Studio (Research & Arts), on R. Ferreira Lapa, was the first space to welcome the idea, and most of the Lisbon nights happen there^[1][5]. The brand is lime on black, and every event title carries the same ⌁ mark^[2][3].

Year one: Runway, The Dor Brothers and an outdoor cinema

The first night, on 26 June 2025, was a meetup powered by Runway: a screening of the GEN:48 winners from the fourth edition, AI art made with Runway, free Runway credits for everyone and 67 guests^[5]. In August MiniMax's Hailuo AI came on board for a night with The Dor Brothers: screenings of their best-known work, a live interview and Q&A, a Hailuo demo zone run by Jas Black and DJ Cincin. It sold out at 192^[6][19].

On 10 October 2025 Lisbon Loras went outdoors for the first time, to the garden of Jardins do Bombarda, to show Kavan the Kid's Echo Hunter and Echo Hunter: A Memory Too Far on a big screen in Europe for the first time, followed by an interview with him, DJ sets from Cin and Momüs and popcorn until midnight^[7].

2026: a night most months

The 2026 season opened on 29 January with Letz AI and Community On Stage: open-call film screenings, short talks by community creators and a Letz AI session from co-founder Karim Youssef. It sold out at 88^[8]. MiniMax returned on 5 March for a workshop and creator talks^[9][2].

On 30 April the Dreamina Seedance Night, billed as bringing Seedance to Europe for the first time, was hosted by AI LIVE's Chris Branch, with talks from Stéphane Benini, Edmond Yang and The Dor Brothers. It sold out at 105^[10][15]. Adobe followed on 28 May with an AI Tools Pizza Night of community talks on Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator and Firefly workflows^[11].

London Loras

On 30 July 2026 Lisbon Loras crossed the water. London Loras, Seedance: The Future of Advertising, filled The Drum Labs in Shoreditch with 205 guests and sold out^[12]. It was produced by Lisbon Loras and SILVERSIDE with Dreamina, with Bionic Awards and SHAIKE as community partners^[12].

Filipa and Chris Branch opened the night, SILVERSIDE showed its film The Future Is Here, and PJ Pereira, co-founder of SILVERSIDE and Pereira O'Dell, sat down for a conversation^[12]. Dreamina used its spotlight to show Seedance 2.5 the day before it launched^[17][18]. Chris moderated both panels: How It's Actually Made, with Rit.ai, Afro Futcha, Sirreal.AI and 50Labs, and The Brief Just Changed, with Omar Karim, Ryan Phillips (Uncanny Harry), Salma Aboukar and Andrea Sarnataro^[12].

Back outdoors, and what's next

On 24 September 2026 Lisbon Loras held another outdoor cinema, this time with MiniMax H3 and Mirelo, at Mira Rio during Lisbon AI Week: live demos, talks, a screening and a DJ set^[2][13][4]. On 7 October Filipa spoke as its founder at an online ConversAI talk^[4].

Next is the AI Creative Challenge Lisbon on 13 November 2026 at the Unicorn Stage in the Beato Innovation District, hosted by the Clube de Criativos de Portugal in partnership with Lisbon Loras. Eight competitors make work live on stage; the jury includes Karim Youssef, and the audience votes as a sixth judge. Filipa is the first confirmed competitor^[14].
