03Biography

The Paul Parsons story

A designer with a camera

Paul Parsons studied at Southampton Solent University from 2005 to 2009 and then spent nearly fifteen years as a graphic designer in the UK before he moved into generative AI[1][2]. His own site sums it up as graphic designer turned AI art pioneer[2]. His LinkedIn profile places him in Exeter, in Devon[1].

Long before AI he was already making video. In 2017 he wrote on LinkedIn about why sports clubs should use video to promote themselves[49]. In March 2018 the Beast from the East storm stranded him in Edinburgh, and he filmed the snowbound city on a Panasonic GH5, set to Robert Burns' Winter: A Dirge read by Matt Abbott; the film was licensed through Storyful and, at more than 67,000 views, is still the most watched video on his channel[19]. In 2020 he made a three-minute documentary on the Devon furniture designer-maker Nick Thwaites[20].

Coca-Cola, and the first wave

He was early. In February 2023 he was posting Midjourney concepts for Coca-Cola packaging on LinkedIn[47]. On 20 March 2023 The Coca-Cola Company named him as one of four digital artists, alongside his Seedily co-founder Chris Branch, who kicked off Create Real Magic, a platform built with OpenAI's GPT-4 and DALL-E that let artists work with assets from the Coca-Cola archive[5][7].

That November, Coca-Cola's holiday release quoted him as UK Creative Director at Seedily, and Seedily's AI snow globes became the hero assets of the holiday Create Real Magic launch, shown in Times Square and on the Piccadilly Lights[6][4]. He then brought Seedily's Christmas images, Santas, polar bears and nutcrackers in many styles, to life with Runway and cut them to a Christmas beat; it is his most watched AI film on YouTube[14][46]. Pratik Thakar, Coca-Cola's global head of generative AI, is quoted on Seedily's site saying Paul and Chris have shown unparalleled creativity and innovation[4].

I'm all about using design to entertain and inform.

Paul Parsons[6]

In October 2023 he released two short films four days apart: New Joker, a Frank Miller-inspired fan trailer made with Midjourney and Runway, and Digital Dilemma, his entry to Runway's GEN:48 48-hour film competition, about a man trapped in a screen loop from seven to eight who breaks out to the coast[15][16].

Kahlo, Einstein and a Miami gallery

In 2023 he signed exclusive representation with AI Gallery, a fine art platform launched by Avant Gallery in Miami[2]. His gallery debut opened on 13 March 2024: Frida Kahlo: I Am My Own Muse, at Avant Gallery + Home in Aventura Mall, showing Fragments of Resilience, four portraits of Kahlo rendered as porcelain and mosaic with gold-leaf accents[8][9]. The series was endorsed by the Frida Kahlo Corporation and the Frida Kahlo Museo, and World Red Eye reported it as the first official AI art project endorsed by a legendary artist's estate[8].

Then came Albert Einstein: Everyday Genius, ten limited-edition prints made with the Albert Einstein Archives at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem[12][13]. They place Einstein, unrecognised, in a modern city, on the subway, at a cafe window, on a bicycle, on a park bench, in the look of vintage silver gelatin street photography[2][12]. On 13 December 2024 he released a one-minute film that brings the prints to life as a day in Einstein's life[17]. He is not the science writer Dr Paul Parsons, whose book 3-Minute Einstein often turns up in searches for this series.

Behind the AI LIVE desk

On 12 February 2026 Chris Branch told AI LIVE viewers that his co-founder Paul would be producing more of the show and building a page for submissions[22]. Two weeks later Ep 110 was the first episode to credit him as producer[23]. From Ep 111 the show moved to Tuesdays, Paul started directing it from the back end, and it opened with a new Seedance-made intro of stone letters rising from the sea[24][31].

Since then he has shaped how the show runs. He split the news into themed segments, set up a newsletter and moved the invites to Luma, added live intro music and, from Ep 117, StreamYard polls for the audience's 1, 2 or 3 vote[26][29][32]. He builds the running order, writes the notes Chris reads on air, loads every film, and picks the closer; he and Chris are the only people who see the pieces before the show[25][27][33]. He once slipped in what the show calls the most controversial poll in its history: ice cream or ice lolly, while the local ice cream van played outside. Ice cream won[31].

Paul does deserve the love. He's now in with us for two hours each week, like really running the show.

Chris Branch, Ep 115[27]

In July 2026 he produced the first AI LIVE Creator Session, with Uncanny Harry, and went on to produce nine of the first eleven, from Gossip Goblin and Kavan the Kid to Karim Youssef and Phil Langer[37][41]. For the Future Vision XPRIZE episodes he and Chris watched between 100 and 200 entries, then he went through the whole shortlist himself to pick 14 finalists for a live review[34][35]. In August 2026 he wrote that he had seen thousands of AI pieces while curating the show[44].

His own work, on his own show

Three of his pieces have been screened on the weekly show. The Lost Page, his entry to Runway's Big Ad Contest, was shown on Ep 116; he had picked the bookmark brief because almost nobody else had[28][18]. On Ep 120 he showed a 15-second Seedance test of the opening car scene of Dave Clark's Disastership, made with Dave's shared prompt about an hour before the show[30]. On Ep 123 the show screened his World Cup film for MiniMax, made with Chris in 48 hours: landscapes that turn into each nation's flag, an idea that began while he was photographing England's white cliffs[32].

His newest work is character comedy. Neighbours, posted on 8 October 2026, is a three-minute mockumentary in which all eight planets give talking-head interviews; Paul performed every planet himself and converted each to a different voice, and the post drew more than 400 reactions[42]. Four days later came Space Jam, but actual jam, a packaging fan concept[43]; in April he had posted a Pokemon Short, When Charizard's Pokeball Can't Contain the Fire[50]. His theory, passed on by Chris on Ep 127, is that the creators who last will be the ones who can build one amazing world and then another, completely separate one[33].

How he thinks, the intro that opens every show, how an episode gets made, then the six pieces that define him: three made for AI LIVE, three made for Coca-Cola, the Kahlo estate and the Einstein Archives.

Six habits

How Paul works, in six lines

Most of these come from Chris Branch, his co-founder at Seedily, and some from Paul himself.

  1. 01Pick the brief nobody picks

Runway's Big Ad Contest offered four products. Almost nobody chose the bookmark, so he did, and built The Lost Page around it[28].

  2. 02Start from something real

The World Cup film began with a photograph of England's white cliffs and the thought of a St George's cross sitting in the landscape[32].

  3. 03Music first

Chris says he browses Artlist first and lets a track set the edit, which also keeps brand work clear of licensing trouble[40].

  4. 04Perform it yourself

For Neighbours he acted every planet himself, then converted each performance into a different voice[42].

  5. 05Keep the ideas human

He stopped leaning on Gemini for ideas, because ideas are what he is good at; in 2023 he predicted they would only grow in value[23][25].

  6. 06Sketch on paper

He still plans website designs on an A2 poster with marker pens[38].

When the show moved to Tuesdays in March 2026 it got a new intro made in Seedance: an aerial push over storm-lashed cliffs to a sea stack where giant weathered AI LIVE letters stand in the surf, a fly-past, then glass letters on a snowy summit at sunrise[24]. Don't lose your place

Made byPaul Parsons, for the fictional bookmark maker Crown & Quill

A woman deep in a fantasy novel answers the door and loses her page. Every time she flicks back through the book she materialises, invisible, in the wrong scene of the story: a banquet, a sea cliff duel, a market, a misty forest, a joust, a battle, a burning town, a ship in a storm[18]. Entrants could pick a paperclip, a fizzy drink, a battery or a bookmark; Paul saw that hardly anyone was choosing the bookmark, and made it mostly with Kling inside Runway[28].

Made byPaul Parsons, from Dave Clark's shared prompt

Dave Clark shared the prompt behind the opening car argument of his film Disastership, and Paul tried it about an hour before the show[30]. He made a character sheet for each of the two characters and one background of the car interior, fed those three images and Dave's prompt template into Seedance, and got a 15-second clip of a man and a woman delivering separate lines in one shot, something that used to be very hard[30].

Is Paul Parsons the same person as the science writer Dr Paul Parsons?

No. This Paul Parsons is the AI artist behind Albert Einstein: Everyday Genius. Dr Paul Parsons is a different person, a science writer and the author of 3-Minute Einstein, whose book often turns up in searches for the Einstein prints.

What is Seedily?

In March 2023 Coca-Cola named him one of four artists to launch Create Real Magic, its GPT-4 and DALL-E art platform. That Christmas Seedily's AI snow globes led the holiday launch in Times Square and on the Piccadilly Lights, and Paul animated Seedily's Christmas images in Runway into a 31-second film[5][6][14].

What is Fragments of Resilience?

What is Albert Einstein: Everyday Genius?

Ten limited-edition prints by Paul Parsons, made with the Albert Einstein Archives at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, that show Einstein unrecognised in a modern city in the style of vintage silver gelatin photographs. A one-minute film of them followed on 13 December 2024[12][13][17].

Where is Paul Parsons based?

Exeter, in Devon, England, according to his LinkedIn profile[1].

What is The Lost Page?

Paul's 53-second entry to Runway's Big Ad Contest, a spec ad for a fictional bookmark maker, Crown & Quill. A reader loses her page and keeps turning up, unseen, in the wrong scene of her novel. He made it mostly with Kling inside Runway, and AI LIVE screened it on Ep 116[18][28].

What was the Disastership test on AI LIVE?

Who made the AI LIVE intro?

Which gallery represents Paul Parsons?
