The Mary Unfiltered story
The best commenter of the whole show
Mary Unfiltered is one of the most familiar names in the AI LIVE live chat. She posts as @ItsMaryUnfiltered and publishes as Mary[1]. Her first comment in the show's records came during Ep. 98 on 6 November 2025, when an AI political music video drew the line "and the Oscar goes to our political leadership"[14]. By the end of September 2026 she had been in the chat for 18 weekly episodes, up to Ep. 132, and for eight Creator Sessions[31][13].
The hosts read her out constantly. On Creator Sessions #6 she was introduced as "our best commenter of the whole show", on Creator Sessions #1 she got "comment of the week as per usual", and during Ep. 125 the hosts called her one of the best commenters they have[9][6][25]. In Ep. 119 she named the brand behind a ZeroAI Studio spec ad, Kraken Rum, well ahead of the rest of the chat, and was hailed on air as "the Canadian girl who knows her rum"[19].
She is quick and very funny. During Ep. 125 she sent 97 messages to the YouTube chat, among them "Take my money" and a verdict on a Star Wars piece, that it felt like it had been kept in the archive because of an HR violation, which the hosts called the funniest comment of the episode[4][25]. During the XPRIZE finalists show, Ep. 130, she sent 57 more[5].
Questions the guests remember
On Creator Sessions, where AI LIVE interviews one creator in depth, her questions often go to air word for word. She asked Uncanny Harry which old broadcast habit he had to unlearn, then whether his persona, if it gained sentience, would thank him for the career or sue him for the drama; the host noted that even the commas were in the right place[6]. She asked Albert Bozesan and Robert Sladeczek whether TARMAC's sets were planned across all 15 episodes up front, and raised localisation[7].
She asked Henry Daubrez where AI creators fail when they scale a short concept to feature length, and posted the question in French as well[8]. She asked Afro Futcha what Quiet Please had taught him, which the host called "such a good question"[12], and asked Karim Youssef whether he would say yes if the MCU came calling for THOLIN[13].
From the chat to the co-host chair
On 8 September 2026, with Andrew Davis and Paul Parsons both away, she stepped in at short notice as guest co-host of Ep. 131, after writing to Chris Branch that she knew Andrew was away that week[2][3]. It was her first time on screen[2].
I am a longtime commenter and a first time co-host.
Mary Unfiltered[3]
Across a two-hour show she reacted cold to 14 pieces, helped premiere the trailer for the Formula E Creators Challenge 2026 with Alex from Bionic Awards, and reviewed five new minutes of Uncanny Harry[2]. Chris noticed she was taking notes, Andrew style; she said she had been taking notes "even before when I was in the comments"[3]. She closed the show in a pair of red-orange shades bought to match the pair Andrew had once worn back into the studio after a music video, and Chris floated giving red glasses to everyone who has been on the show[3]. The next day, on Creator Sessions #7, the hosts thanked her for filling in[10].
Strategic nonsense: her own channel
Her YouTube channel describes itself as "a dedicated pipeline for generating strategic nonsense, high-concept visuals, and campaigns built entirely from scratch", with no corporate filter[1]. Between 11 June and 19 July 2026 she posted 45 uploads, two long-form videos and 43 Shorts, which together have about 6,500 views[1].
Her most developed AI world is a World Cup 2026 sports desk, Canadian Edition. An American football and a hockey puck anchor the broadcast, explain to visitors that "we call it soccer", apologise, sorry not sorry, and sign off on a Zamboni stacked with beers[32]. The star is the puck, in a red Canada toque, maple-leaf scarf and red glasses[32]. She cut five vertical versions as well; the most watched has passed 450 views[33].
Other uploads include a music-driven reel of AI self-portraits in many styles[34], a spec ad about the small comforts that make a new city feel like home[35], and a black-and-white alley piece that is her most watched upload, at 1,451 views[36].
Sketchlings, and how she watches
She has promoted Sketchlings, a child-safe AI drawing app that turns children's drawings into characters, on her channel and in the AI LIVE chat, where she once suggested Andrew get a guest to try it[37][38][4]. She has said on AI LIVE she used to work in furniture[3], and her channel tags much of its work #AIMarketing and #BrandStorytelling[35][46].
On air she says she now watches AI film for different tells: "Before I would watch hands and eyes and lip movement. Now I'm watching hairs and textures and fadeaways"[3]. She pays more attention to storytelling than to trends, warning that when creators all pick up the same storyline, the work ends up the same tone[3].

Her questions to Creator Sessions guests
Six questions she typed into the chat that the hosts put to the guest, quoted from the session transcripts.
What is the old school habit from your time in traditional broadcast that you've had to completely unlearn to succeed in the AI-first world?
If your persona, Uncanny Harry, gained sentience tomorrow, would he thank you for the wicked career or sue you for the drama?
The full season is outlined up front. Did you plan the world set across all 15 episodes before animating, or does the facility grow episode by episode?
Where do you see most AI creators failing when trying to scale a short concept into a longer feature-length film format?
What did Quiet Please teach you about AI filmmaking that you carry into your next project? Technical, storytelling, workflow, or otherwise?
Do you say yes, or do you pull a Denji?
